Harvey Birdman Coming To Wii

edited January 2008 in Games and Technology
Given the continuing the success of Capcom’s Ace Attorney series of courtroom adventure games, the company’s announcement last April that it would bring a similarly styled title based on the Adult Swim original cartoon Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law seemed like a natural fit. The game was playable at E3, though it was a very early build full of filler voices and graphics, though representatives at the time went on record saying the game was on track.

Indeed, things seem to be moving right along, as Capcom today confirmed a Wii SKU for Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. Players craving motion sensitivity in their courtroom dramas will be able to pick up the game for the Wii on November 13 for $39.99, while the previously announces PS2 and PSP versions will ship the same day, but will carry a slightly lower $29.99 MSRP.

How are they going to make the court cases work? I mean, as in comedy vs. a more serious tone with Phoenix Wright?

Too bad it's not exclusive to any company. Only because that would indicate it would be possible for the game to incorporate characters from exclusive titles in the same way they used HB characters on the show.

Sounds neat, but I'd have to see more information on gameplay/writing to be really excited.

Edit: Hey, gameplay. Fully animated and everything, no wonder it's not the DS.

Does this mean a Phoenix Wright/Harvey Birdman crossover game is possible?!?

lulz aside, this game is yet another one that makes me wish I had a Wii...

Are there any details on how gameplay works? Like finding that thing he sent you gives you bonus points?

They better use the original VAs too!

At E3 the game played more like a choose your own adventure book than anything else, so at least early impressions find it feelign more simplified than what players might expect. The game felt very early along to me, but as stated, they confirmed all was going according to plan. In fact, a Capcom rep told me at the show that they just finished recording all the voices, and were putting them into the game as E3 was going on.

    That was guile then? I wasn't 100%

Is this game going to feature cameos of a range of Capcom Characters? if so, I might have to get it, assuming it gets a UK release (I have never heard of Harvey Birdman, or seen it on UK TV)

You're damn right the extra $10 is worth it for the waggle.

I mean, who wouldn't want to do the classic "Finger Point" or "Desk Slam" with the wii controller?

I've enjoyed HB occasionally when I'm up late. But if we're going to be seeing Capcom cameos... Yea, wow, totally sold.

One of his characters being dead shouldn't really matter, seeing as how Birdman dies in the last episode...

If Capcom characters are going to be making cameos in this game, then dear god, I hope that means one of the cases will pit Birdman against one of the lawyers from Phoenix Wright in an epic courtroom showdown. Even if it's just Winston Paine.
