The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Just keep practicin'. You're leaning pretty heavy on lines. Try to loosin' up and use some shading to describe some of those features your drawing instead of the thick lines.
These here drawing lessons/tutorials are very, very good. You may want to look specifically at " Seeing Anatomical Masses" (the 9nth link down the list, 4.05). But don't take my word for it that those links are worth a look, see that first post there by 'spooge demon'? That's Craig Mullins.
I would suggest practicing the hell out of the gesture exercise to get into that fluid groove you'll be needing in order to sketch quickly without hesitation.
Seconding the Vilppu tutorials there (you know those are in the Q/D thread, right?).
If I had to point out a single issue here to bash, it'd be the somewhat shaky grasp on form and foreshortening. So without further ado, excuse me while I rip apart what I consider by far the weakest of the bunch:
I also suspect you have a tendency to go into 'cleanup' mode too early, trying to get the contours alone carry the weight of the drawing. Try to slow down a bit and focus on the construction longer, so you can be more discriminate and effective when choosing what elements you want to focus on in the final linework.
In Spanish, if you have a question or exclamation mark you put not only at the end of the sentence, but the beginning as well. ¡Hola Chicas! You can make it real easy by clicking ALT 0161... though most of those downloadable internet fonts don't have the full set of characters, you can always invert the regular exclamation mark.
In any case, a serious crit, on that same drawing, it looks like the guy's penis is poking out of his swim trunks. I'm sure all the chicas are laughing at him.
Trust me, your college professor (as long as he's an art professor) telling you that you suck...that's a good thing. My teachers in college pretty much just told me how awesome i was, when i still needed a ton of work on the basic fundamentals that my hippie high school art teacher never bothered with. Consequently, i didn't learn a damn thing in school and ended up dropping out after a year thinking i was all badass. Yeah, not so much.
So there's a strong possibility he's trying to motivate you, and not just being a jerk.
I'm getting to work on those drawing tutorials asap.
AOB: thank you sooooooo much for all the effort of piecing together that for little ol' me it was really helpful. i really respect you as an artist so i got all giddy when i saw your reply.
MT: Someone else said it looked like his penis before to...maybe i should just put a big black bar over it.
Scumdogg: It was kinda harsh...being the first day of class...i'm taking it to heart though
So my college professor told me that i suck at art soooo...
You and me both, dude. Here's what mine told me:
"Kid, I'm gonna be frank with you. If art were a ballgame, not only would should you not play it, but you should not be in the ballpark at all, or the parking lot, or watch it on tv for that matter."
Granted I was a horrible student in his class, so I had it coming.

This is looking a lot better. I want to see a lot more like your female models on the second and third pages.
What exactly are you doing? Are you sketching from references or what? i'm only asking because I really want to start improving as well and your stuff is getting better and better, it's inspiring.
