i know I'm not supposed to link stuff but F it! this is the FF'er people!
Old Post:
i posted this on another board here but i want some expert help so I'm coming to the artist board.
so i have these three bad looking dudes.
Problem is i want more ways to make them distinguishable from each other without making them too different or taking to much effort. There is also the possibility that I may want to make like ten to twenty different FFers for the game they are related to. currently they have slightly colored tints to their armor but i know thats not going to work with 10+
Also does anyone here have skills with designing paper craft? while I found it a real challenge it also has been one of the most rewarding projects i have worked on in years. Here is an image of all the steps i took to get to the final models.
this is my first time designing paper craft so any helpful tips would be appreciated
my only suggestion
(these are flipping wonderful)
is to make the cardboard stand a circular place piece instead
to me, it stands out
but as a circular black piece
it'd look like a cartoony shadow!
Ya, ditto on all the "those are freaking badass" comments.
As to making them look different, maybe some different colored eyes, different shaped mouths/eyes for different expressions, or maybe just some insignias would work to make them differentiable at a glance.
don't worry the pattern will be available eventually.
mully
while i like to stay away from circles as they are one of the most difficult shapes to cut out i will likely add nice rounded corners. thanks for the suggestion
Hats
I have decided that hats are a wonderful way to distinguish from each players FFers from each other. here are the hats i'm going to do
damnit super..,
that's things really look like it can sell. A simplemodel but have an awesome looks.
I remember doing this thing when I was young, and it is something like a car model.
I feel like want to do this again after seeing your work.
So bitching, in fact, that you actually made me use the word "bitching." I don't do that often Once i have time, I'm going to make one of these guys to keep on my desk.
I guess one way you could make them different is change their *ahem* appliance (and not just their size). Perhaps you could make a blender counterpart.
Also, some of them could be holding fruits like oranges etc.
Moustache ... Goatee ... FFer Incognito ... Sherlock Holmes version with a Pipe ...
Also rememebr the FFer has facial expressions ... Angrey eyes, sad eyes, etc ... just changing the eyes to half circles or moons etc will convey expressions for the different ones ... ditto for mouth etc
I think the black circle base idea is a winner ... would maintain the cool cartoony look you have so far created
Freakn cool as hell tho man ... I love this kinda stuff ... always wanted to try it but its an artform thats always intimidated me
