Wraiths are still seeing a lot of use TvT, but then again, the only TvT's really worth watching in the last few months are Boxer's games, which always feature effective unorthodox play.
Scouts are never used outside of jokes, except in one specific PvT strategy called "The Stove," which is really just a strategy used to humiliate an opponent when you know you're much better than them.
A wraith harass off of a proxy duel port can be effective against a zerg if timed right to take out overlords, and can be situationally useful in a TvP situation as a timed counter to a toss going desperation 2-base carriers if he has his third denied, although corsairs blow those paper planes out of the sky.
I think after playing all these years, there isn't anywhere to go. I think I peaked with my brilliant strategy of 12 tanks and 12 wraiths. I've never been the same again.
Man, remember when wraiths and scouts were actually useful? (Wraiths more than scouts) Those were the good old days.
I don't know about scouts, but wraiths are making a comeback on the pro scene at least. I saw them in a couple T v T, the mobility on a large map can put a good hurting.
Wraiths have always been used TvT. In TvZ they're more of a special build done early game (dual starport wraith). TvP they're used to counter early game reaver, just one wraith to send the shuttle packing.
Dangerisk on
If what you say is true, the Shaolin and the Wu-Tang could be DANGERISK.
Shortly after Brood War was released, the severely gimped the wraiths and scouts ground attack, which I don't understand. They just added an air-attack only unit for all three races, and then they turn scouts/wraiths into almost the same, except for a few ground uses for wraiths. It's like they gave everyone all these possible air units to counter other air units, but not much else, so they are hardly used. Corsairs and wraiths may be used sometimes, but I'm just lamenting the fact that current Starcraft doesn't have a stronger air game, especially when I'm being attacked by 500 tanks.

I agree with the ground game superiority as it lends well to clever unit placement rather than hordes of units ignoring the cliffs/chokes/barriers that make a map well-built. I think they could have given wraiths/scouts/valkyries a little more usage aside from the team-based surprise strategies though (with the obvious wraiths in TvT excluded).
I'm sick and can't do much Rock Band play so I'll be on East watching some replays in PA/wang and/or in channel: pa.
Most every game that any pro's ever played on television can be found in the same database as well. To see great wraith usage, I recommend his most recent game against Ruby, which can be watched here
Interesting fact: Boxer's 8-2 In TvT in the past six months, only with a fluke loss against Piano and being gayed by monty hall against FBH, who by the way, is a huge fag.
For those of you who wants to get better quality vods (or can't find some more specific games on youtube) this http://www.teamliquid.net/tracker/ is teamliquids torrent tracker.
I regularly get speeds upwards 5000 kb/sec on the new games and sometimes I even cap out my 10 mb dl speed.
Older games are harder to get but if they aren't to old they usually have a few quality uploaders and no leachers and if they are really old you can ask nicely in the VOD thread if anyone could seed and/or upload it. If you still can't find it throw me a PM, I don't have it but my friend has hundreds of GB's of old vods on DVD so I can probably aquire it and send it to you.
Holy SHIT rosey, that's fucking crazy dude. Did you at least get the wolf back? Hopefully that doesn't leave a bad scar, or if it does, at the very least a COOL looking one.
That is so rad and sick at the same time.
Thanks for the link pluto. I Can't play right now, and in fact I'm off to see Cloverfield, but
Well my micro with goons and lots is getting better danced out of a few storms and ate up some HTs, but everyone seems to be all about team games in the PA channel.

We do our fair share of 1v1s, actually. people enjoy obsing them (me in particular)

That brings up a problem though unless we use Hamachi because I can only do 1v1s with no obs or any extra people, or I get bad lag from latency.

I don't think that Hamachi would help that. It seems to be far from efficient.
3) In StarCraft 1 the basic tier 1 units were balanced against higher tech units almost equally by their unique role within each race as they were by unique unit upgrades and a greater benefit from the standard upgrades.
How much effort are you putting into making lower tech units viable higher up in the tech tree in ways other than upgrades that just makes them a "better unit" such as hit points and damage?
(This question is brought up because of the Terran Marine +HP upgrade which IMHO is really cheap)
- CuddlyCuteKitten
We are putting a huge amount of effort into making sure that the tier 1 units are useful throughout the game. We are also putting a large amount of effort into trying to get as much mileage as we can out of each of our upgrades so that upgrades really change how you can use a unit (but without fundamentally altering its role). The Marine is an example of a work-in-progress unit. We think the shield looks cool, but we are still working on how it will affect gameplay. Actually, in current builds Marines+Medics+Stim are so powerful that the shield is not that necessary in a lot of matchups.
4) Some new maps used in the pro scene for StarCraft have started to include permanent spells like "Dark Swarm" and "Disruption Web" as a part of terrain. Are there any plans to allow this as a kind of special terrain by default or allow map makers to add it as a special attribute to some sections of the terrain?
Examples would be areas with decreased movement for some or all units like shallow water, terrain making units immune to missile fire like dark swarm or terrain making the units unable to fire like web.
If you plan to include it will it be usable on melee maps or UMS only?
- CuddlyCuteKitten
Our data editor allows the creation of this type of terrain. You could easily put this type of terrain on melee maps. We have not finalized our feature set for terrain yet so I dont know what will make the final cut for the default Blizzard maps.

It helps me for some reason. I can't sleep so I'll be on in a few minutes, see if anyone's still on.
So I'm playing from Japan and I can't seem to play 1v1 with a good mate of mine and I'm not sure why.
I've used this connection in other things, namely on Xbox Live where I play CoD 4, Halo 3, etc. with no problems. The connection is a 47Mb DSL connection... On Starcraft, I can't get into any games on the Asia realm and on the US realms when I try to join his game or create my own (and he attempts to join it) we get the "the latency is too high; game is not responding). However, we have gotten into a lag free game together once (some public UMS, it was just to test if we could play with each other at all), so we know it can be done.
We even went as far as setting up the beta OS X hamachi client to no avail. We couldn't join each other's games on the realms or in the TCP/IP screen. (Couldn't even see them there.) However, he could share my iTunes library fine when we had the hamachi client running.
Anybody have any idea what's going on here? What I should to do try and troubleshoot this? My modem is in Japanese and I've gone through great pains to disable anything that remotely resembles some sort of firewall on it. OS X's firewall is off. Bittorrent downloads fine, etc. I'm not sitting behind a router.

Well, that was embarrassing. Good game, I get in his base, kill a couple of his probes, fight off his rushes, break his goon contain with speedlots, expand, and a few minutes later, all my probes explode in a hail of blue smoke and death from HTs.
Hey Future Blues I have a question. Korea loves starcraft. China loves starcraft. Japan? Nope.
What's up guys with that guys?
Just because they're Asian too doesn't mean they automatically love Starcraft, Dangerisk.
But WHY? Something to do with a certain quality of consumer electronics produced in a country? A Starcraft-dampening field created by well-respected auto industry executives?
It's because Starcraft will run on even the cheapest of computers flawlessly.
PC gaming in Korea and China are based much more heavily around internet gaming cafes - which can use the cheap boxes, mostly because top-of-the-line personal computer's weren't as widespread in China or Korea as in Japan.
I believe it's because Japanese computers are unable to run anything other than hentai games. Get Kerrigan naked and the Asian zerg rush will be complete (At least, for the countries in Asia that matter).

Why wraiths fell out of favor is beyond me, especially considering how good muta harass is

build orders for different strats, all 3 races. May be outdated, but good enough.
