There were opportunities in the early stages of Starcraft, but no one took them and I'd hesitate to say that professional Starcraft even existed back then.

You know you can just hit space bar and it'll bring you to the last warning (units under attack, upgrade complete, building complete, etc).
Half the time something finishes/a unit's made but of course I know about space bar.
