September 07, 2007 - The Office of Film & Literature Classification has rated a new batch of titles for entry into the Australian market place this week, including yet another Japan-only Nintendo classic, destined for the Virtual Console: Sin & Punishment: Successor to the Earth from the Nintendo 64.
Full-blown Wii retail titles have been listed as well, including Battalion Wars II, Endless Ocean (formerly Forever Blue) and Dragon Blade. Mario Party DS and Naruto Ninja Council have also been listed for the Nintendo DS, and Gradius 3 from the Super Nintendo joins them.
No release dates for the retail offerings have been announced at this stage, although Sin & Punishment is the next Nintendo 64 game to be released on the Virtual Console, and that should happen later this month.
How come there hasn't been any talk of this? Looks like we are finally seeing some imports on the VC
For those who don't know:
Sin and Punishment: Successor of the Earth (罪と罰 ~地球の継承者~ Tsumi to Batsu: Chikyū no Keishōsha) is a 3rd-person action/adventure video game by Treasure Co. Ltd, released in 2000 and distributed by Nintendo. The game was only released for the Nintendo 64 in Japan in 2000 and the iQue in China in 2004. It was originally titled as Glass Soldier. As with Treasure's Radiant Silvergun, the game's limited print run and high import demand make it a rare and sought-after title today.
A strange fact about this game is that despite its Asia-exclusive release, it features extensive voice acting in English with subtitles in Japanese. As a result, it is now one of the most requested Wii Virtual Console titles in North America, with gaming site IGN declaring a "Very High" probability of its release.[1] Additionally the game has been fan translated to English by a small website called Vanit Studios. On August 31, 2007, Sin and Punishment was listed on Nintendo of Japan's Virtual Console index page. The game will be re-released on the Virtual Console in Japan on September of 2007 after popular requests. Additionally, a rating for this game has appeared on the Australian OFLC Database which may suggest an future release in the PAL region as well.[2]
It also scored pretty highly, and is just the kind of gem I didn't expect to see to reach our shores.
Everyone buy this at release, and we may get Mother 3 yet!
Don't count on it the game was already in English pretty much. its more of just saying put it up as opposed to actually localizing (like mother 3 would need)

That's true.
