I don't know how many Magic players are in this forum, but MTGO beta has been live for a while. If you're interested in playing, you can download it here. It may still be Fileplanet signup only, but free drafting is free drafting.
They currently allow 999, RGD, TTP, and CBS drafts, and have no intention of adding in 10th for the beta.

If you have the client and an account from file planet already, the file planet accounts have been shut down. If you have a normal Magic the Gathering Online account you can now use that to log in using the beta client. If you don't have a normal MtGO account you can't do anything at the moment until they set up a way to transfer the fileplanet beta account to the new account system they are using.

Log in with your 2.5 username and password.
For this to work, you need to have created the account more than three weeks ago and you need to have BOTH a username AND a password that is ONLY alphanumeric (A-Z and 0-9 - no special characters)
2. If you DO NOT have a MTGO 2.5 account

Ive been playing it since a few months ago, and since then theyve made major required changes, but there not even testing the features that were meant for this release, which was the ui customization, there having so many problems with the clients as a whole, with no real steps forward its a little ridiculous. For the longest time noone could make an account in the system, they just now got that working again..... There showing that there completely unprepared for the switch to their own code from leaping lizards...
Their account creation servers are back up, you just have to be on in right time right place.......
I recomend you give it shot, free drafting is free drafting, I just couldnt stand drafting older blocks anymore (well I should say I dont enjoy drafting those specific blocks)
Edit: ok apparantly you can skip past the payment section of account creation. The documentation for this beta is probably the worst i've ever seen.

What about sealed decks is that implemented for free? Because if so I'm all over this.
Just a note, this is only how it's going to work in the beta. Once the game goes official, you'll have to buy your packs and tickets, just like the old version.
Drafting is where you open a booster pack, pick a card and pass it on. 8 people at a table do this three times. You take those 45 cards and make a deck out of them (land is provided).
