I was messing around with my acoustic guitar and accidentally started playing part of a song i've heard before. I don't know what the words are but i think it's something like "if you could read my miiiiind" sung slowly and just with a guitar accompanied. Heres what i'm playing (i don't have any recording device)

Anyone know what this song is? It's been bugging the hell out of me, i think it was pretty popular.

Although I don't have a guitar handy to play that, those lyrics are part of a popular song from the 1970s by Gordon Lightfoot called "If you could read my mind." It was later covered by several other artists, and made a minor resurgence several years ago as a dance remix by Stars on 54. It was also covered by Johnny Cash on the posthumous American V album.

ya i looked into it based on the lyrics and that song is very different, my lyrics are wrong but that's just what i remember. The line (which is wrong) is sung sort of high and angelic from what i remember.
