25 minutes in that fortress. It was painful watching that, knowing exactly where the exit was.
I figured for people that knew where the exit was it was even funnier. But seriously nintendo, what the hell was up with all those fake doors. Did you really think we needed those extra lives that badly?
Just got done watching it, loved it. BUt i still love Lost Levels 8-3 and 8-4 the best. Especially the part in 8-3 where you keep on running and jump head first into the pit.
"gotta keep running gotta keep running, i know this game. gotta keep running"
*jumps into bottomless pit*
"what?! god dangit i thought that there would be a koopa there or something, something something!"

Oh, it was hilarious when you found the door at last. All the blaming Nintendo for creating such a devilish maze though, it was just like "aaaaauuuugh"
I haven't played Mario 3 in ages, so it's fun to see it again. It looks easier than I remember it, though. Does it get harder? I have gotten used to seeing Gilder being tortured and so far, this is a walk in the park. I guess at least some of the levels in Super Mario World will bring back the pain, though.
Ha, ha, I almost feel bad asking for more pain now. Almost.
Ok, so Gilder, you rage through all of the game's skill challenges in six, seven and eight, losing at most a life or two. Then you spend almost half an hour trying to pull of some ridiculous stuff in that last fortress. Oh man, the good times.
I don't remember if All-Stars fixed all the glitches, but there are some hilarious things you can do in Bowser's Castle. At the top of the double "staircase" filled with electric waffles, there is a 1 up. If you croutch jump over it, you can phase through the wall. If you brought a P suit through the entire fort you could also fight a different (yet exactly the same bowser by flying up and out of the rooms. This second bowser was considered by many to be "the real bowser" when in fact its probably a duplicate room due to cart space limitations.

One of the lower pathways in the castle leads to a different Bowser, though. You sure it isn't just that?

Oh ho. If you combine this post with the next post, you'll get the answer. You can fly from the easy room to the hard room.

The last time I played it was on GBA, where I played 3 files. One all Mario, one all Luigi, and one with the goals evenly divided. I also got every yoshi coin in those files. I think I'm better at it.
And I wasn't that awful at 3, I just didn't know where to go in that one section. Really the only levels I was bad at were that one and that annoying level in pipe world where you have to grab the stars.
Hmm, I would say that Mario World is going to take the longest, but after that last video... well, that may not be the case. Although, some of those Star Road levels are cruel works of pure evil designed to destroy men.

I dunno...Levels are a lot longer in World, and some of the levels need to be cleared multiple times for the star.
All right guys I've made a quick intermission video I'm going to upload but I'm still doing Mario World today. The intermission video is a quick run through Hell in Cave Story. I wanted to show I'm not awful at everything. It's not the best time ever but it's still somewhat impressive. Well, after the first 3 minutes of the video that is. So anyone that hasn't played Cave Story or hasn't gone through Hell may not want to watch. You could though, I can't stop you.
I'm actually surprised I did so well this time. Usually I have to use the life pot before the final form which means I usually can't just stand on his eye and pump missiles into him. I think it's because I got lucky in the falling block chamber.
While the other games were great, both hilarious and painful to watch (often at the same time!), i'm enjoying Super Mario World a lot more. I most enjoy Lets Play's where I learn a lot about the game, and you are definitely delivering.

Tee hee.
I was not disappointed.
EDIT: Oh god the whistle. Oh man.
At the beginning of world 8, I was thinking, "You know, it'll be really funny if he accidentally uses one of these later."
Still funny, even though you didn't play them again.
Also, music boxes should've been the first thing to clear out for inventory space.

This game! THIS GAME! ARGH!
Wait... What? No! No!

Five (thousand) stars.
Hahahaha. Amazing.
SwashbucklerXX, I did make a reference.

Watching all of this.
Just a short 11 minute video, Mario World is uploading right now.
Ah crap. I was wrong....
It was awesome.
It was pretty awesome. That's why I could never do an LP of it. I could never top such a magnificent thing. It even had Jack Bauer!

However, I still watch some of these videos. Perhaps it's the nostalgia. I don't know.
LL. Mario 3 was only bad for me being a dumbass. LL was legitimately challenging.
