also, how are the demoman and pyro, those were my favorite classes in TFC
I'd recommend not thinking of this game in terms of TFC. It really, REALLY feels different. About the only thing TFC helped me with was a vague notion of how to move around 2fort.
That essentially makes TF2 and all that half-life crap $25
I wasn't going to get the orange box, but $20 just for portal is a little steep.
But at the same time I don't want to give MORE money to a company I'm am currently pissed at.
Orange Box = $50 = 5 games (if you count the HL2 episodes as only half a game)
$50 / 5 is $10.
Not $20.
Blarg.
Yeah, the Orange Box sure is a good deal isn't it?
Not when I'm only interested in Portal, a little bit of TF2, and not at all interested in Halflife.
Well you must not be very interested in Portal if you don't think it's worth $20.
Don't misunderstand, one way or another I will have Portal. I've been looking forward to it since it was first announced. I'm just conflicted as to weather or not I should spend $20 on what essentially amounts to a 5 hour puzzle game, or $45 on a 5 hour puzzle game, a sequel to the only actually interesting online fps game I've ever played, and a bunch of other crap I don't care about.
It's more a question of if TF2 is worth $25. Which is why I am in this thread to begin with.

When a Spy is disguised, does the weapon he's holding reflect on what he looks like he's carrying? i.e. When he takes out his knife does his disguise switch to a melee weapon?

played a few games with Marx/Pretentious and life3
ended up in sudden death and i backstabbed basically everyone on the other team
I've found watching the timer, to switch to a medic in time is really important.
Also, it's scary to see 3 medics healing a heavy weapons guy, only to have him get a headshot and drop in 1 hit.
Grr...
I once saw three medics healing a heavy.
I backstabbed two of them and the heavy before they even knew what hit them.
YOU!
Damn, why can't I manually put people on my nemesis list?!
.... I haven't figured out yet if it is better to chain medics, or to all heal a single target. I would think chaining would be better, cuz you could curve more. But this isn't UT2k4 or anything.

Not that I've noticed.
The big telltales are speed and a lack of firing.
I wish there were a way to fake firing. =(
(oh, and going stabby should automatically decloak someone. But I guess that would just be blatently unfair. )

I'd say chaining since 1 is usually enough for what damage the heavy is going to take, and you want to keep your other medics alive.
Of course one of those medics that's got your back might just have your back.

Can't I backstab from stealth? Ze knife, it does nothing.
Protip: Doing anything with the cloak while disguised as a different class? A bad idea.
... although I wonder if you could get away with it when disguised as a spy. *rubs chin*
I also saw one guy who was playing really smart. He disguised himself as a heavy of his own color. I ducked away from there so fucking fast before I saw him get gacked.
Hah a couple of hours ago I was running very late for a haircut and said "ok this is my last round as a Heavy let's make it quick I'm just going all out"
I killed 13 duders before going down, beating my previous record of two

This works, I've seen it work. Disguising yourself as the enemy spy can make people a lot less suspicious of your suspicious behaviour. A good thing to try is go charging from the enemy side to your side in plain view as you cloak, THEN turn right around and get behind them. Might not always work, but it's something I reckon could be useful.
As for messing with the cloak while disguised? I found that incredibly handy. You cloak as you're heading into enemy territory, then de-cloak somewhere that you can't be seen and you're in disguise. Also useful if you're found out, ABOUT to be found out, or need to sneak through an area that you wouldn't ordinarily be in to get to an area that you look like you should be in. It's also handy to cloak so that you can run off somewhere else and change your costume if you need to. It tends to make people really paranoid and jumpy when the guy that just attacked their group and killed some people just claoked and vanished. then you can run around later as someone else and do it again.
All in all just make sure you don't de-cloak in view and you can get away with a lot.

I played WoW with some guys from here
I don't know the usual server pass, but I can try and get it from one of the guys I know after I'm in the group.

Then again I am kinda interested in TF2.
Hey ciph! Nice to see you around!
It's Myr.
(and the password is a 4 letter word for what Theran is that starts with a W.)

Portal is the HL universe...

It's taken me a lot of adaptation: especially because the new prime concern is scouts running across the roof and shotgunning your face off.
But hey, I coped with medics conjumping across half the map, I can cope with some hyperactive prat with a scattergun...

They are snipers.
(sorry, missed the bottomfed post.)
It can be fun, but it all depends on other factors. Like spies. Oh god, snipers are such spy fodder.
Demoman is much fun, and he's now my top scoring class too.
Pyro is missing something, in my opinion, though the screams of the burning make me laugh anyway.
i love this classs
Can't I backstab from stealth? Ze knife, it does nothing.
Use Q.
(speaking of, I wish the interface was better for spies. I know it's supposed to block your view... but... the buttons. Eh. )
Would you pay $25 for TF2 if that was the only way to get it?
Nope, you have to unstealth first.
Fuck yes.

Also, Pyro damage is only high when it is being done to you, not when you deal it out!
