I hope I have a friend with this beta. I really want to try out the sniper. been smoking people in FF, but FF isn't TF2
I wish I had 8. So far I'm up to 5 -- 3 more and I can get that achievement!
Also, yeah, you can cloak as your own class. Hell, you can cloak as a spy of your own color! I'm.... not sure what advantage that would give... but the option is there!

Weird. I wonder what tactical possibilities that actually gives anyone. Unless you want to hang around your own base and convince the enemy you're harmless or something, but I can't see that as being too productive.
Maybe to draw enemy attention to you whilst other team mates flank? I can't imagine you'd last long, but I suppose with the right team work it could be used to decent effect.
Yeah.. the disguising names thing is GREAT... until you come up to your doppleganger.
I wonder how long it'll take spies to use that to their advantage and do the "I'm Sparticus!" "No I'm Sparticus!" "No I'M SPARTICUS!" style shit.
Well the real Spartacus is probably the one that's firing / hacking away. If they've seen each other it'd be pretty difficult for either to get a 1-hit kill.
Yeah, when you're playing as a Pyro you just keep thinking "jesus christ I've been burning this guy forever why isn't he dead" and when a Pyro is attacking you it's more like "HOLY SHIT GET HIM OFF ME." It's easy to think that you didn't accomplish anything when someone survives your fire, but just think about how much it sucks to be left alive with a quarter of your health left. I think the Pyro is more effective if you play it safe and just try to set as many people aflame as possible while hiding behind cover or teammates than if you try to be a tough guy and kill everyone yourself.
Or you see Mumblyfish as something that isn't a medic.
It doesn't pick a name completely at random, it picks a name of someone who is playing that class on the opposing team. I haven't seen what happens if you cloak yourself as an unrepresented class, though.

Again... 2 HW guys = I'm outta there. I suspect you could do more of those kinds of things too, looking like a living decoy.
And yes, I love the Snatcher pic and use it every time I can. :P
don't stop, it cracks me up.
And yeah, i've been the same when i see someone wearing my colours decloak and not be a spy. And wearing my name badge. "Waaait a minute... it's that guy i am!"
This is why when i'm a spy, my first disguise is always opposing team spy, so you can cloak and decloak at will. Then when you're behind lines, bust out the knife and practice your stabbin'

Pyro seems best when sneaking up behind large groups of people and just setting them all on fire.
Also, not going against any other offensive characters. Scout and Soldier eat Pyro's alive, you have zero chance of victory.

That's a shame. I'm running a Athlon XP 2800+, 512 MB RAM, and an ATI X1050 card. It takes forever and a day to load, but once it is loaded it runs smooth as butter.
Or you see Mumblyfish as something that isn't a medic.
But Medic is so fun to play.
Agreed. I'm tired of seeing people complain about a lack of recognition. I've won at least 3 overtimes thanks to being a medic, and healing EVERYONE, not just the heavy weapons guy.
Oh, and Pyro's are godly Spy counters. Give them a little love and if they light on fire, they're bad guys. The disguise doesn't do a thing.
Putting on a new one or cloaking does (I forget which, I was in the middle of doing something when I got burned), but that kinda reveals the problem anyways.

Isn't that the point of the pyro? Harassment and damage support?

They are insane damage dealers if you actually hit them with even a lick of fire.
although I see far too many pyros who don't know that other pyros are immune to fire.

Also, lots of pyros forget they have a shotty.
The shotty is pretty essential to playing the pyro. Remember to quick-swap and (usually) keep it equipped when you're outdoors, it actually does decently at medium range.

One thing I noticed, the Sniper doesn't have a taunt animation for his melee weapon, which makes me sad.
Everyone else seems to have taunts for all their weapons as far as I can tell. Heck, the spy even has one for his cigarette case (don't know about the sapper though).
Going back to an arcadey style is annoying in some ways. When I head shot someone, I expect them to be dead.
Melee disparity is annoying too, I'm walking backwards from a scout and shoot him 4 times in the chest with the shotgun, he hits me twice with the bat and I'm down.

ahahahahah holy shit
Same with sniping.
Also, enemy HWs always have a tighter firing cone.
Uh, in non-vidyagames you ordinarily can't take several shotgun blasts to the face just because your a big strapping Russian guy.

I did the same exact thing to an engineer that was apparently...me.
I was like oh no you don't!

"Alright, form a line in front of HW Guy here and we'll solve this problem with a firing squad."

Actually most of that time he was only a spy disguised as the team medic.

I laughed pretty hard. I felt bad for laughing afterwards though.

What's more, seeing that "+Athenor" is awesome.

I think it's "+map none"
Yeah, but you need to be extra cautious about those escorts coming along behind you because they might not be as friendly as you think they are.
What the fuck.
