are you into food at all? hot sauces or anything like that? You might like Jungle Jim's though you might get in trouble at the border when you drive back. I dunno.

Jungle Jim's is a grocery store. An absurdly large one with a lot of variety of food and alcohol, but still a grocery store.

Jungle Jim's may be a grocery store but it's a fucking event. Recently won the best bathroom's in the country contest. You can find any food at Jungle Jim's, from any country. Humongous liquor selection, probably the best humidor in the tri state area (jim loves his cigars), and all kinds of goofy shit on the walls.

Is it a priority stop? Probably not, but if you're within 20 minutes making a stop you should absolutely go.

Get skyline, if nothing else to say you have had the cincinnati famous chili. LaRosa's is also delicious. These are both things I grew up on, I realize they're not for everybody and don't care if it's not real chili.

Greater's will make you fat, and when you love it call them up and they'll ship their ice cream to anywhere in a cool foam cooler.

If you go to King's Island (I live across the street from there basically) there is a Brazenhead (Irish bar...chain?)down the street that has a huge selection of beer and live music. Not a fan of the food but you can get drunk on all sorts of delicious things you've never heard of. I'd say that's a great end to the day.

Also if you like gambling Argosy is very close to Cincinnati and brings in the most money of any riverboat casino in the world. It's not much to look at but has a great poker room and lots of table games.

So I'm in Ohio now. Haven't seen much of Dayton cuz I've been sick and busy with work.

However, I need to escape the hotel restaurant. Where's a good place to eat in Dayton?

    BTW, Ohioians are really friendly.

You wouldn't know it by our legislature.

FUCKING THAI 9! I WILL MEET YOU THERE IF YOU WANT

edit: I think it is dayton that is friendly, I've noticed people greet each other on the street a lot more often and when I ride my bike on the sidewalk they will back their car up to let me pass (if they are at a light or something). Very considerate.

I wouldn't say Cincinnatians are very friendly. So maybe it is just Dayton.

No restaurant suggestions near you though. Hope you feel better. :(

Oh, you're just upset because Blackwell is the devil.

It was funny to watch backwoods Ohioans struggling between voting hard core crazy conservative and voting for a black guy.

As for advice, Columbus has some pretty nice people. If you make it there, Katzinger's Deli. GO THERE!

I'm going to be in Columbus next week. I need to kill some time on Friday and was thinking of visiting Barley's Brewing. I figured I could kill a couple hours there trying beers and stuff. Anyone have opinions on it?

If they have it, get the scotch ale. If not, the Russian Imperial Stout is also delicious. And if you're helped by a skinny, muscled dude named "John" who looks like he's a member of Blink 182, tip him really well.

Sounds good. John a friend of yours I guess? =)

And I was definitely going to try the Imperial Stout. Fucking love them. Honestly I'm going to be there for like 3 or 4 hours probably. I'll try everything if I can.

    You probably can't.

Actually they probably have a sampler so I could cheat. But yes, you are correct, I probably can't drink 8 or so pints in 4 hours.

Anywhere else you'd suggest I try in columbus?

My co-workers and I did a Heart Walk through the street the Katzinger's Deli was on. The very exuberant quality control engineer almost freaked out in joy because she just realized she was going to go there for lunch.

Just the places I've already suggested. Larry's is popular enough too. If it were winter, I'd recommend the sake-bar down on campus just because warm sake is really nice when it's really cold out.
