Something i did a rough lineart for a few days ago in the mspaint thread in SE++, it was going to be nice and simple with some clean coloring, but then i got carried away coloring the boots, so i re-did most of the visible fleshy parts to match the coloring i had done.
i still plan on coloring a simple version of it later, but for now i'm done.
this was the beginning lineart.
and this is after i completed it with modifications.
what do you guys think? do you like the modified version? should i still color a simple version?
also, any advice or color overs are welcome, i am very new to drawing/coloring in this style.
I'm no expert but here's a quickie:
-upped the contrast
-added highlights where they were due
-reinforced the radiosity
-added shading on the calves armour
-saturated the shadows a bit (were you doing them in black?)

thanks, that helps a lot. yea, coloring is my weak point, the shadows are not in black. they're in a deep blue-grey, on the skin at least. (also, you made her skin look so much better, i need to practice that so bad)
i can see now that i should have toned down the rendering in the boots to make them smoother, and added a more definitive light source/shadow. thank you so much for taking the time to give me a detailed crit, it helped so much. also, that tutorial is gold, thanks for the link.
i also like the original, and i'll so color it and post it soon.

I think her lower legs are too long in relation to her upper legs... thigh:calf ratio is off.
I think quite a few things about the ratio is off. Like the forearm is way too long.
Also rendering all the hair like that is unnecessary. It looked cooler before you spent all that time overdoing each strain of hair. The torso (thorax?) is practically non-existent, which makes her upper body look way off compared to the super long legs.
The improvement in the hand itself was a step in the right direction though, it looks much better in the new version.
Her lips look like they were pasted on her face, and not quite in the right spot (too much chin, no space between them and the nose...) The ... thing on her crotch looks really uncomfortable (would you want to walk around with a piece of metal between your legs?), and the stuff pasted over her nipples isn't going to give her any support at all.
Her wings are a good shape, but they look like they're coming out of the back of her neck.
I like the lineart version.
I't very nice to see and watch. The coloured version one seems not in line with the way the character is design. Maybe a cheerful colour can make it look better.

If you really wanted to get it right, here's a very good tutorial: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm
Now we can start discussing anatomy...
So tiny!
She could use shorter legs.
