Favourite Microwavables

What are your favourite things (not always foods!) to put in the microwave, and why?

For me, Peanut Butter, because it a) goes all liquidy and delicious, and b) because it kinda bubbles and honeycombs and looks awesome.

Also, marshmallows, because they will typically blow up to around 10 times their original size. Try it.

yea, i think most of us know the marshmallow deal. it makes a mess.

i like to put peanut butter, and a bit of a chocolate car into the microwave, then drizzle it over vanilla ice cream.


also, before anyone else can say it: Aluminum foil, small animals, metal objects, small children (also large children).

don't try this at home.

On an interesting note if you fill a cup half with milk, then put a light bulb in it (Metal side in the milk obviously) and turn it on, the light bulb will light up.
PS. Dont do this if you value your microwave, i did it and everything was ok, but it is possibly very dangerous.

the light bulb will light up regardless of it being submerged in some sort of edible fluid

see the milk cools the light bulb whilst being bombarded with microwaves

Toasted bagel with with a few slices of cheddar cheese between the halves. nuke 'till cheese is half melted.

I used to just melt mozzarella cheese in a bowl until it was nearly burning, then eat that, but I'm trying to watch my intake of "1% greater chance of heart attack within 10 years, per time you eat this" stuff.

I generally try to avoid the micro. Just use it for defrosting, really. Most things taste terrible when coming from the micro compared to the other options I have, like my sandwich iron. Sooo much better.

The only thing a George Foreman Grill is good for is cooking bacon, because it makes it nice and crispy. Everything else comes off that thing tasting like crap.

I like to put cds in the microwave. Put the magnetic side up and nuke it for about 3 seconds...you'll know when you've seen the trick and it's time to turn off the microwave.
