i'd put more info but there isn't much, but apparently they're (atlus) working on it, and they aren't thinking of releasing any trailers or anything till post-TGS.

    Y'know, I'm all for Persona 4 but on the PS3? Unless they really plan to make it super graphically amazing OR have a crapton of high-res anime cutscenes and high-bitrate music (which I guess is a possibility) I don't see why it needs to be on the PS3.

    IE, I hope they don't pull a Disgaea 3.

    but you could really say the same if it was only 360 too

    I'd be perfectly fine with it on the PS2. Persona 3 didn't really push the system too much (though there was slowdown in some later battles).

    All I'm saying is I don't see the need to move onto the 'next gen' when you aren't even pushing the current gen. They'd sell a shitload more on the PS2.

    Then again, maybe Persona 4 would be a system seller. It gives me reason to get a PS3.. when it's down to 300 dollars, that is.

    I would like to get my hands on P3 first. Come on PAL, daddy needs his fix!

    If they are planning to show something post-TGS then I demand some sexy high-res screens and a wallpaper, so I can drool over it for the next few years while I barter with various gods for a PS3.

    P3 looked very good. I imagine they could make magic happen with the PS3. I'd buy another Persona game happily, but it's gonna be tough making one as kickass as P3 without repeating so much of what made it awesome.

    P3 looked good artistically. As far as technical prowess went, it wasn't that impressive. It didn't have to be, though.

    Each Persona game thus far has been more awesome than its predecessor. I have no doubt that this trend will continue.

    I also, unfortunately, have no doubt that the "Persona Curse" will survive the generation leap, and North America will continue somehow to be screwed with regard to the series.

    Except by the time this game is released stateside there will be a bunch of other reasons to own a PS3 anyhow.

    The "just this one game" argument only holds water for so long after launch.

    Hopefully true. I'm still waiting for a really good reason to own one though... Persona 4 would be a helluva start if it was exclusive (please don't be exclusive!). For me personally, I haven't seen much coming out that I would consider buying. That's just me though.

    By the time Persona 4 is made AND has come to the US, the PS3 will be much cheaper.

    There is no way they'd make P4 for the PS3 AND have it translated and on store shelves in the US in 1 year. I'm thinking like 3 years.

    It isn't that big a surprise, since they've said in the past that SMT was likely going to the PS3... except this got people's hopes up that it would be a true SMT 4, not Persona. I guess they're going with what's successful, so more power to them, but I think an SMT 4 could definitely harness the PS3.
    P4 could too, but like Disgaea, it doesn't seem as necessary.

    I'd get a PS3 for either, but it isn't a console Atlus USA has exactly welcomed with open arms yet.

    It'd be tough, but they could pull it off, if they worked closely with Atlus JP during development(like they did with Trauma Center Second Opinion).

    probably not very high

    doesn't atlus like to have a bunch of media and artwork with their releases?
