I just got back from a 2 week trip to Japan this weekend. Twas my first time there. Anyone else have any experiences good/bad with the country?

Good:
#1: School girls on bicycles (am i right?!)
Ramen
Okonomiyaki
Takoyaki
No fear of being assaulted
Really sweet looking cell phones.
My brother-in-law had a pile of hentai manga sitting in the room we were staying in. I got to look at them a few days until my wife realized what they were... :(

Bad:
Ganguros :x
The general distrust of the public of me as a gaijin
How nobody speaks American. O_o
Too many bugs Cookarachas... fucking evil bugs.

I could go on. All in all, it was a fucking awesome time. We went to Hiroshima and saw the peace memorials and the museum. If you ever have an opportunity, I highly recommend it. It's a sobering experience and one that anyone who thinks lightly of that event ought to see.

We're going back next year for the New Year celebration and I can't wait.

    Not only that, but he's dead wrong. Most people do speak very formidable English, aside from a small number of shopkeeps or labor workers.

    Yeah, i've visited my aunt twice. she lives in Asakusa. Really fun, but man, is it expensive. Also, everyone looks the same. And I never got to defend an innocent girl with wildly inhuman proportions against three ruffians looking to rape her, thereby making her live with me, along with my childhood friend, a magical girl, and a smoking hot robot with no feelings.

    Man, I had the best time in Japan. I was in Tokyo for the entire 8 days and I stayed in a Hotel in Shinigawa. I visted Akihabara, Shibya, Tokyo itself, Roppongi and other places. It was entirely awesome. I had no trouble going around and everyone was cool with me.

    Don't know, maybe you acted stupidly like an American, but I never had a problem.
