DVD Burner Powered On But Not Detected

So I have this NEC 16x DVD Burner...model number ND-3550A.

It turns on, I can ejected and close the tray...but windows XP does not see it. I open up nero...nothing. Insert a broodwar CD...nada. I have no clue what could be causing this issue - I have it set to master (originally letting the comp choose), have the power cable in there along with the cable connecting to the motherboard (IDE I assume).

The only thing I've changed since I've had the burner in there was the power supply...so...any clues?

Does the BIOS see it? If it does, check diskmgmt.msc (Start -->Run)

I don't believe it - I'm on my THIRD PS3, and my FIRST XBOX360. What the heck?
