I just had the most amazing moment so far. In the PA server we were attacking Dustbowl, section 2, second point. Time was running out, but we had the defense pushed to back. I was a demoman about to make another run from the left side, and I get ubercharged. I smiled, turned the corner and started lobbing grenades into the packed enemies just outside their spawn and at the multiple turrets on the far right. Everywhere I turned shit just died. I don't know how many kills I got there, but my healer (his name was Vesty, if you read this you rock) made it all possible. We won on that push. My roommate was watching and was amazed at how much destruction I had caused.

dude it was almost like your nades got stronger or something when ubercharged cause you were destroying everything in what seemed like one hit. *shrugs* but yeah I was quite happy with how that turned out

yes, but I don't think detonation causes damage in TF2. Only denies spy the points.

Were they glowing? If you're on a roll you'll get "critical hits". And they do a LOT of damage.

We really held that point. I was surprised considering we had to hold it for quite a while. I racked up a load of people jumping into my teleporter on that one, and my sentry was laying waste to bad dudes down below. It was awesome.

Spies need to start working in pairs more. Myself and Juan and later I worked with another spy would go for the one two punch on engi's. One saps, the other stabs.

Later playing as engi after playing spy mostly Me and JKupo were laying sentry guns near the flag in 2fort, making laps getting metal, checking the area etc. Everytime we ran into each other we blasted at each other. It was our way of saying "sup."

Also, I was guarding the turret when I see I had called for a medic...hey wait...no I didn't! Thats when my dopple ganger waltzed in. Silly boy.

Alright, I got sort of a puzzle question. Last night, our team (red) was playing 2fort. The game quickly went stalemate because of engineer turtling tactic the blues were taking. They had something like 3 engineers in there with up3 turrets. Now my question would be, how do you get rid of those goddamn turrets? Me and Tendo tried the same exact thing on our base (except with only two turrets), and got completely raped when a HWG and a medic ubercharged in, and systematically tore us some structurally superfluous holes. Was it just our team last night? It felt like me and Tendo were the only ones playing. I mean, we held off the blues for a good long time, but two engineers can't carry the team.

Anyone else get frustrated at the lack of team in your fortress?

On the junkyard map or whatever (easily my least favorite map) I'll be assaulting point A with the rest of the team, and they will all suddenly disappear, leaving me the only one left. Turns out they all went to B. :?

Are you guys using Vent for communication or what? Very few people seemed to be using the in-game voice communicator.

Teamplay is essential against an organised opponent. If your guys don't know what they're doing, then you can't mount a decent offensive, or even a decent defence sometimes.

    Some suggestions for turrets:

    - The aforementioned Heavy + Medic combo

    - Demoman bouncing grenades around corners (in 2Forts enclosed spaces he should be able to take out a turret or two)

    - A spy or two working their sappers on the enemy turrets. Sap the turrets from cloak and then backstab the engineers. You will probably need to co-ordinate with someone else to arrive soon after as flag runner, otherwise once the spies are outed the turrets are just going to get re-built.

It's also cool that several people who play Guild Wars and used to be in KCHS are now playing TF2 with all the people who play CS:S.

I have 2 problems with this game 1 is what appears to be low res textures on the weapons, I notice this most on the Heavy's chaingun and the Spy's pistol but the Engineers wrench and Scouts shotgun show it too. I know its bitching but when I have my settings on their maximum I'd hope these kind of things would be less apparent

    Scouts shotgun

    Spy's Pistol

And my second problem is when medics see a heavy mowing down the other team with good results but the medics dont heal them.

The nemesis mechanic is really fun, especially since it gives them a little symbol over their head so it's easy to pick them out of a group.

And as a sniper the only thing scarier than spies are scouts. If I see a scout coming towards me I basically have to hope I hit them with a powered up shot and kill them or go find a teammate to run towards. Scouts double jumping all over the place are terrifying.

The problem may be that I really enjoy most of the class, but I'm really terrible at it. :?

you just gotta get used to the maps and learn where the good deployable spots are. you don't want to put stuff where it can easily be blown up, but at the same time you have to put stuff where it can easily get frags, dispense ammo, or teleport somewhere useful... and it all has to be in a place you can easily maintain it.

some spies are learning to destroy teleporter ENTRANCES, which are almost always unguarded, and which you probably won't be rebuilding until you next die and respawn. fie on those spies.

Yeah, scouts are easily becoming one of my favorite classes. Nothing is more satisfying than double jumping over to the bridge, wounding the snipers with a scattershot, then double jumping onto their platform and hitting a homerun with their face.

Pyros are totally Dervishes: point blank AOE glass cannons (and I love both).

Also, had a great spy moment last night: on dustbowl on offense, at the first escape (the one with the trench at the beginning), waited out of view in the tunnel until the initial group were all dead and the fire had subsided, disguised, cloaked, ran straight up the trench and into the back entrance of the CP. Cloak ran out right as I reached there, undisgused, easy cap. An Engineer had started a turret but it was only level one and easy to get out of LOS. Was only about 25 seconds into the match :p

with cel shading, the point is to make textures that allow the lighting effects to work well. Wind Waker has some of the best texturing on the GC, for example.

I can understand on things like bullets or the BLU logos, but my guess is that they just used the models for the in-game characters, instead of creating new models from scratch just for the first person view.

I have the most trouble stabbing Medics because the cloak likes to play tricks on me, plus their speed. I generally avoid them for jucier targets like if he's pumping a HW.

Wow, some impressive kill streaks in that video. Though I usually have a whole lot more trouble dealing with engineers and medics (at least on the PA server) than you had there. Mumbly is impossible to stab as a medic because he's moving around all the time and medics are faster than you.

I have the most trouble stabbing Medics because the cloak likes to play tricks on me, plus their speed. I generally avoid them for jucier targets like if he's pumping a HW.

i usually do the opposite, because the medics target wont realize that his medic was stabbed until he is also backstabbed. i get 3-4 kills/saps this way

if only i was quick enough to stab a eng and then cloak + dis + sap

i end up dead very fast as a spy. but i do my damage.
