I just had the most amazing moment so far. In the PA server we were attacking Dustbowl, section 2, second point. Time was running out, but we had the defense pushed to back. I was a demoman about to make another run from the left side, and I get ubercharged. I smiled, turned the corner and started lobbing grenades into the packed enemies just outside their spawn and at the multiple turrets on the far right. Everywhere I turned shit just died. I don't know how many kills I got there, but my healer (his name was Vesty, if you read this you rock) made it all possible. We won on that push. My roommate was watching and was amazed at how much destruction I had caused.

dude it was almost like your nades got stronger or something when ubercharged cause you were destroying everything in what seemed like one hit. *shrugs* but yeah I was quite happy with how that turned out

Were they glowing? If you're on a roll you'll get "critical hits". And they do a LOT of damage.

Might've been, I was wondering what the hell that and the blue glowey rocket ment/how to get it.

Yeah, I love it when I see snipers huddled around a turret trying to act non-chalant.

Is there any rhyme or reason to getting critical hits with the heavy? Sometimes I get completely unfair strings of crits, but sometimes I just can't get any...

Also, I made a sig ^_^. That, of course, is a quote about what I'd claim to be the best run I've ever had in a multiplayer game.

    *edit* Where's my sig?

Critical hits are based on momentum. Live long and rack up a load of kill or assist points. I believe healing and teleport points also work towards your critical hit rate, though it would be a bitch to reliably test. If you perform particularly well, you are rewarded with more common critical hits.

So, i was disguised as a heavy in dustbowl.

Pottering around getting prepared to sap one of three turrets that were up, stopping us from capping the control point.

When the enemy medic ubercharged me.

    He ubercharged an enemy spy.

I just took the turrets down with my pistol.

I bet he felt rather sheepish afterwards.

Wait, the ubercharge lasted after you dropped your disguise?

    And he kept healing you?

Well it lasted long enough to shoot a turret or two to death.

Wether the guy was a total idiot / reacted slowly/ or the uber charge lasts while unstreamed, i don't know. I'm not completely familiar with the mechanic.

    But it was godamn hilarious.

My bet is he reacted slowly. It was a pretty manic fight going on at the time.

Also, don't disguise yourself as an engineer or medic if those are your targets. I've killed "myself" way too many times.

It's easy to miss things or react slowly. Things can get pretty chaotic, especially if you're new to the game.

I imagine it would be difficult to tell unless he was really paying attention. So yeah, slow reaction, mostly due to the blue glow he would of been giving you. Of course, size differences would be weird. I don't know, either way, that's awesome. And that my friends is why as a medic, don't run around ubercharging random people.

Yeah you can stop healing and he'll no longer be ubercharged. In that case the medic didn't realize this or was being stupid or something. The best thing to do when you get ubercharged as a spy, IMO is run out but don't do anything, so it's wasted.

Holy shit, that was a lot of fun.

I hopped onto a pub just a few minutes ago and... well.... by the time I was done, I had over 50 points.

The next person had 26, and he was on our team.

I BACKSTAB'd so many people that they changed their spawn strategy from Soldier/Sniper-heavy and ended up turtling with Engineers and Demos.

EDIT: This was in the space of about 20 minutes. I'll have to splice together a video or something.

For people talking about not disguising as the class you're trying to get, it doesn't matter.

I've seen soldiers with my name come at me when I'm playing a demoman, so the name has nothing to do with the class.

Yeah, I think that may have been me Athenor.

Scouts have so little health that hitting them anywhere with a fully charged hit is an insta kill. I try to hit them after the second jump if they'll be falling a long way since they can't change direction after that.

I am pretty sure it picks a name of a player playing the class you're disguised as. If nobody is playing that class, it probably picks a random name.
