3D Studio Max Question

I'm trying to find the right word for something in 3DS Max, and I can't remember what it is.

I'm trying to set up an object collision so a series of particles just doesn't fly through an object.

I remember in some other 3D program that that sort of thing was referred to as constraints but I can't find that in 3DS Max 9?

What is the proper entity or property for setting up object collision in 3DS Max 9? Specifically between particle systems and standard polygon shapes.

I think I remember having to set it up using a force in an older version of 3D Studio Max, like applying the gravity to an entity and that entity is the object which everything is pulled towards and does not pass through it, but I can't find that either.

this is a discord of mostly PA people interested in fighting games: https://discord.gg/DZWa97d5rz

we also talk about other random shit and clown upon each other

Can't help you, but you'd have an easier time finding someone at cgtalk

    Deflectors?

It's under space warps, the 3 curly waves button.

And you'll have to use bind to space warp too.

I'm using 3ds max 7 so I'm not sure if it's the same in max 9.

edit: Oh, you need it for an object. Hmm UDeflector might work, but you'd be better off asking someone at cgtalk. I don't know the proper method.
