I love this show. It's like an hour long Silence of the Lambs every week. Scares the shit out of me sometimes and I get afraid to sleep. I don't even know how this makes it on to cable tv. It's violent, but it's appeal draws more from the "holy shit people are scary crazy"-- because some of the shows are so damned messed up. But damn am I excited for it's return next week. Anyone else get scared by this show?
one of my favorites, when that guy locks those 3 girls in a basement and tells them that they have to kill 1 of them for the other two to survive. I put in Lion King before I went to bed to try to clear my mind.
and god damn that one girl gets a hammer to the back of the head. owwwww

It actually is a really good show. It looks like just another CBS procedural drama initially, but it definitely has some meat on its bones. I haven't seen an episode yet that I haven't at least somewhat enjoyed, and a few of them were pretty insane (in a good way).
I liked the one where the guy kidnaps degenerates and prostitutes and stuff and forces them to make their way out of an abandoned building full of booby traps and stuff. When the one girl finally makes it to the end:
and sees how all shoes laying on the ground from the people before her who didn't make it
That gave me goosebumps. Good stuff. Plus, it has Mandy Patinkin, so it's hard to go wrong there.
This show just makes me angry when I see it because then I remember how good the first season of Millenium was. NOW THAT SHOW was a fucking mind freak.

My only complaint was that the serial killers pace accelerated so fast. Here is my generic template for an episode of criminal minds:
- There have been X number of killings in Y area over the last Z time period.
- Team goes to check it out (insert friendly/unfriendly local police force here).
- During the period the team is in area Y (generally a day or two), at least X more killings happen.
- Killer is caught/killed.
Now, obviously this is because of the 60 minute format they are limited to. What I would like to see is stretch out a story line over 2 or 3 episodes. Spend a little more time developing a profile. Slow the pace down a little.
I thought the first season was pretty solid. The most recent episodes I've watched just haven't held my interest as much.
According to wiki, their's gonna be a rap up type episode, and then he's gone.
Apparently he wants to leave because "he (loathes) violence on television and (is) uncomfortable with certain scenes in Criminal Minds.".
Dammit.
It's because he's one of the bigger assholes in hollywood also. The inside report from the cast and crew is that he didn't like the a combination of money/billing order/screen time on the first quarter of the new season, so he just didn't show up for the first day of filming. He got into it with the director and got fired. Last I heard, he was going to stay away, but wanted to salvage what he could out of it so he might have some cameo time before they kill him off or he leaves.
I heard he pulled the same shit on Dead Like Me and that's one of the reasons it got canned, but I can't confirm that. Also, rumor is that because of the success of stuff like the Babylon 5 and Deep Space 9 Movies, Showtime is going to do a Dead Like Me movie, or two, to wrap up the show for everyone. Wonder if he'll come back for that ?

Man, that sucks. Although really, I think the show can still work pretty well without him. Thomas Gibson is a surprisingly good character on that show, and I think he can fill in the gaps pretty well. Which is crazy, because after Dharma and Greg, I never thought I'd like the guy again.

Just got done watching the first season. Pretty decent. I don't know if I'd call it scary, but rather quality.
I'm thinking he means Battlestar, but um - hey. How cool would that be?
"Hey, everybody, I'm back from the wormhole. Wait, who fucked with the franchise while I was gone?"
