XBox 360 - Is Overheating Still An Issue?

I'm seriously thinking of getting an XBox 360 because of this deal. The one remaining niggle of doubt I have is, "Is overheating - and the 3 rings of death - still an issue with new 360s?" Does anyone have any indications one way or another that Microsoft has fixed this problem, or not?

Butt buy As I call them are raping you on the price of your screen. Rarely do they have a decent deal on stuff.

Although that 50inch doing 720p for 1,200$ is the sweet spot. For gaming and HDTV, 720p is just fine. The halo 3 360s are supposed to have the new heatsink in them. I don't think they have the new 65nm chips though.(Chips are still being speculated)

    It should be fine.

Well, it's $1100 total for a 50" 720p Samsung (with the sale price), an XBox 360 (the $349 one), and Halo 3. That's a better deal than I've seen elsewhere, so if they're raping me on the price of the screen I want to know where you bought yours.

Jesus, that's a great deal. I have a 360, but I may do that just to have the 50" in my room with a second 360....system link anyone?

I was saying the 1080P seems expensive and I'm an LCD fan honestly. 1100 is a good deal. I won't argue with that. I don't know how long DLP's last and If they are meant for my eyes given that sometimes people see a rainbow effect in DLP's. *edit* Looked at reviews, it seems to have a sterling review everwhere. 15% off is nice too. Heh, If I needed a 50inch Screen, I would be tempted now.

What I meant is usually best buy doesn't have the best price in a longshot. I always shop around and read tons of reviews on durable goods. However, This is an awesome deal.

Get the halo 3 360 instead. Its only a few bucks more and it should NOT have overheating issues. I heard rumor they used quieter drives in that one too but I can't really confirm that.
