Mario Party Clone?

Are there any Mario Party style multiplayer minigame collections for Windows? I'd like a change of pace from the old FPS RTS network grind, and I sure as hell ain't throwing my soul down an MMORPG's gaping maw.

But the MMORPG monster needs souls to live! Don't starve your local MMORPG monster kids.

Anyhow, I would also be interested in just such a game, the Game Cube Mario Parties are around 40 USD at gamestop...... and that's used....

The only Mario Part knock-off I know of is that Sonic game for the DC.

Well there's a Crash knock-off, a Tamagotchi knock-off, even a Mary Frigging Kate And Ashley knock-off (I swear to god), but they're all for consoles.

Sonic Shuffle. Stay the fuck away from this game. What's that one thing Tycho said in the comic once? Oh yeah. It's murder porn.

If you have Warcraft 3, there's Uther Party. Beyond that, pretty much nothing that I can think of.

Are you specifying multiplayer here? Because that's kind of the sticking point. Most PC games, free or otherwise, are one player per system. And aren't mario party type games multiplayer by definition?

If you're just looking for minigame collections, there's probably a number of those for PC. But if you mean more of a minigame/boardgame mix like mario party, that's much less likely.

While admittedly there's no capturing the feel of reaching over and covering your buddy's eyes/stealing his joystick during a minigame, I'm looking for something that can be played on internets.

Though I must mention, windows does support a theoretical 32 USB gamepads all at once.

You'd need a ton of hubs, though. And extension cables.

If you have a Gamecube (or a Wii and 4 GC controllers) get Wario Ware Mega Party Games (or something like that... there was only one GC Wario Ware, so it should be easy to find)

I've had way more fun playing Wario Ware than any of the Mario Party games. The only important requirement is you almost HAVE to be four players for it to be really fun.

Also, if you are looking for 4-player party games, avoid Wario Ware Smooth Moves on the Wii: I thought it would be like a Wii version of the GC game (meaning waggle games in a party setting) but it's mostly a single-player game with a few multiplayer minigames thrown in, which you have to unlock by first playing the single-player part. Lame. (It's still a fun game, though).

just get an 8-port USB hub (or a combination of hubs that gives you 8 free ports)

Then get 8 Xbox360 wireless receivers. Then tell all your buddies to bring their 360 gamepads.

Although, I wonder if this many controllers would cause reception problems...

Isn't Rayman Raving Rabbids available for the PC?

I mean, they ported that fucker EVERYWHERE, it must be available for the PC.

It's fun on the Wii; not 100% Mario Party, but should be entertaining enough for you on your PC.

I believe both Viva Pinata and Viva Pinata Party Animals are being ported to the PC, so that's one.

    Doesn't YDKJ involve knowing trivia?

I thought the OP wanted a fun game involving joystick/controller-osity.

But any chance to pimp YDKJ should be taken.

    I actually just remember this:

NovaWare: Clicked! - Basically, a WarioWare clone for the PC.

Rayman Raving Rabbids has some possibility, but its apparently only for multiple players in front of the same physical PC.

As for price range: Anything cheaper than flying myself and my N64 to Europe to play my Mario Party 3 cart with my British netbuddies.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm definitely gonna get Uther Party. Its ideal because everyone and their dog has a copy of Warcraft 3. Thats right, Warcraft 3: dog edition.

EDIT2: Apparently you can download the whole Rabbid game free of charge. From Fileplanet. With spyware. Hooray.
