Problem with new Sharp Aquos LCD TV

I just bought a 32-inch Sharp Aquos LC-32D62U LCD television online from NewEgg.com. I really like it for the most part, except that there is a noticeable blotch at the top of the screen, right in the middle. I'm guessing that must be where one of the back lights is.

Here is a close-up picture of the screen: link

FYI, I don't believe this was present the first day I got the TV. I didn't watch it the second day, and then I discovered this problem the third day, which was yesterday. I had a TiVo about a half-foot or so above the screen in a nook in my entertainment center, but I unplugged and moved that and left the TV unplugged all night. Unfortunately, it was still present this morning. I did notice that it seemed slightly worse at one point until I first moved the TiVo, but I don't have any idea if it's related to this problem. (I also may not be remembering this entirely correctly.)

Does anybody have any idea what the problem be and/or what to do? Obviously it's under warranty, but I'd really prefer to not have to ship this thing somewhere if I can avoid it--it may not be a big screen TV, but it's plenty big to make that extremely annoying and risky.

Thanks!

That looks kinda like the imprint of the heel of your palm, though I don't know if that's the right size, since there's nothing for scale comparison in the picture. Bad things can happen to LCDs if you apply too much pressure; are you sure you didn't put your hand there while you were setting it up?

It's not quite the size of my palm--it's somewhere between 1 & 2 inches in diameter. Someone seems to think that an internal part of the panel is placing pressure on itself, causing discoloration. I'll probably just end up calling Sharp and seeing what they say. I'd really just like to avoid having to pack it up and ship it, but we shall see.
