I did not have the proper environment to do the commentary, so I could not get an update done today, but there are... opportunities tomorrow, so check back on Saturday. Swell, huh? And hey, I am already planning the trek through the Bishops' fortress, so we will be nearing a major plot fork in the next four updates. Those that know what I am talking about can cast their votes in spoilers and I will comply with the will of the majority.
I wanted to get a third video done today, but language conspired against me. Anyway, two videos today, two more until we're done with the fortress and with the Bishop.
In the second video I use the word "body" twice, yet I was thinking of the word "corpse." I'm not sure why it has eluded me so, but the end result might garner a chuckle or two at my expense.
Check back Thursday for another update. I am not sure I will have something done by then, but I will post something, at least an ETA. Dammit, if it wasn't so hard for me to simply have some seclusion in my home then the updates would be more frequent. Please don't hate me.
Which reminds me: the next video will be rather dry with regards to the commentary about the game itself, so pitch in something for me to talk about during the seven or so minutes I will have think of unrelated material. Otherwise I will bore with my take on gaming.
I have to translate a large block of text from English, so I won't be able to update today. I did, however, record the commentary so check back Saturday for the next video.
The next video will be chock-full of action, ominous voices and me trying to make out where the enemy is against all that brown. I have went through it many times already just to make sure I will not embarass myself by firing blindly at a random, nondescriptive wall, but I have never thought that I would regard Stealth Acolytes with a profound level of hatred and admiration for their sneaky ways. Anyway, in the next video we will barbeque the Bishop.
The mods will soon ban me for making so many posts one after another, but it cannot be helped.
I have the video done, but it took a long time to render it. I still have to convert it, so I will do that when I get up. I forgot that, when I say in the morning, most of you are somewhere closer to noon than midnight. Anyway, sorry for this small delay, but I think this video will make up for it.
Could I make a suggestion? Edit your OP with links to your episodes, so that they're somewhat centralised for someone jumping into the thread after you've done a few?
Yeah, sure. I am uploading the new video, but I have to go out now, so the video will be processed soon by Dailymotion and the link will be posted after I get back. I will also update the op after I get back.
It is time to make your decision! I will do both ways eventually, but, of course, I have to do one of them first. I will be updating the op later today not only with the links to individual posts and videos, but also to something extra.
Imagine having a two-week deadline for a translation, while you get the actual text five days before said deadline. On top of that, it is a giant wall of awesome, and by awesome I mean "Mmmmkay, colonoscopy time." Did I mention that three out of five days are laden with subjects from 8 AM to 6 PM, plus an exam and another translation? Yeah, that too.
Fortunately, we are doing a shorter text, so not all is lost. I will be preparing an update tomorrow morning and I will post something on Saturday. Since "Kill Macil" seems to be winning, I will be doing just that. There is, obviously, a mission right afterwards, but I will leave that for the next update.
Yeah, this is going to suck. I will try to upload a video later today, or tomorrow, without commentary because there was a lot of stuff to do in real life and I simply did not have time to do it.
I barely had free time this week, so I could not do the video I wanted to make. Please note that Macil is a dick with his homing lightning bolts and I wish supernatural cancer on his sordid transparent maw.
Well, back when I did not know how to strafe Macil was the one who made me turn on cheats. Years later, having mastered strafing, he still makes me feel like turning cheats on and stabbing him to death.
Please read this spoiler after you have seen the latest video (you do not have to, but it would be great if you did):
The next LP I would like to do is an Earthbound hybrid LP, with an emphasis on videos. I would simply like to ask whether there is interest in one - I have seen many Earthbound LPs on SA come and go, none finished, and I would not like to strain the magic of this wonderful game. The experience I have gained doing this LP will prove to be invaluable, especially regarding the schedule and the time it takes to do an update (I have spent the better part of the day applying the damn changes to the last video).
I am aware that my update schedule is not what many people would like it to be and that Earthbound is a massive game to LP, but if I am greenlighted I will try to prepare everything beforehand so that the LP is updated more frequently. My biggest mistake with this LP was to thread deep water when I could barely swim. I will probably start the thread sometime around February during the break, so that I will be able to buffer future updates. Of course, this thread comes first.
Now, regarding Strife. The original idea with the Kill Macil video was to actually survive and finish the update back at the temple; however, Macil and I have killed each other, and I thought it was an interesting outcome, so I went with it. Do not worry, the LP will continue.
The reason why this one took so long, apart from my laziness (ho, ho!), is because I wanted to get Camtasia 3 and do that neat effect at the end. I did get Camtasia 3 on Thursday, but the DVD is not detected by my DVD drive. ISN'T THAT JUST SWELL!? (My DVD drive is old and it sucks.)
In the end, I had to juggle the video between Camtasia 2, VideoMan 3 and VirtualDub. It was fun playing around with the editing, don't get me wrong, but when it takes so long just to process this stuff, I just tend to hold it off as long as possible. I'll just suck it up next time and do it right away.
There is no way that I will be able to get a video done by Thursday, so let's just say that this time I'll post something on Saturday. I am, of course, open to all suggestions and I am continuously checking this thread, so do not be afraid to tell me that I should update more often.
I fell ill on Thursday, haven't slept all night, could hardly focus my thoughts on Friday (had to finish a school assignment that day too, so instead of going to sleep early, I stayed up a bit past midnight), and felt like trampled shit all day today.
I did some experiments on Sunday, which I am going to post sometime tomorrow, but I will have to stitch something close to what I have envisioned... Well, there will be something, just work-in-progress unfortunately. Fuck you disease.
You can thank UFO: Enemy Unknown for the lack of an update today. That, and school.
I'll try to whip something up sometime tomorrow, though no actual progress will be made. I have been trying to do the Loremaster's lair for quite a while, and I just cannot do this level fast enough - hell, I cannot even find the bloody exit, much less the Loremaster himself. This is going to be lovely.
EDIT: Not happening. Let's try this again on Saturday. Yes, I am procrastinating, among other things. Shame on me. I cannot promise anything, but I will try to make up for this weekend.

Next update will probably be on Thursday. I'll see how things pan out once Thursday actually comes.
"Oh holy god what is that I can't hit it oh god
Oh jeez what am I gonna do IT CAN TELEPORT"
"I hate you, Blackbird! I hate you!"
Mainly because I don't remember what happens if you choose that path

Big fan of this growing up, I think I finished it twice.
Anyway. I will have to postpone the update until Saturday. I am trying to come with something interesting, and I have got Camtasia 3. Fun times!
EDIT: Grammar! Also, I only really have to do a lot of editing on this one.
#14 Kill Macil
I'll write something in the morning.
Please read this spoiler after you have seen the latest video (you do not have to, but it would be great if you did):

The video quality is poor, but it is watchable. When this one is finally done, THEN I'll upload a higher-quality version.
I'll see you on Saturday then.
