Welcome to the LOST-themed Phalla: PhalLOST. Based on the hit television series, but not literally 100% the hit television series.
NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF LOST IS NECESSARY TO PLAY.
All important information regarding factions will be explained in the narration and/or PMs.
There will be concepts from LOST used here, but no one will actually *be* someone from the LOST series. Ideas will be used, roles may be exposed, but no one will be Locke, Sawyer, etc. There will be parallels though, and there will be many concepts from the show. I will do my best to not ruin anything for those who have not watched the show, but everything will make sense. There may be anything from underground hatches to giant statues, polar bears, crazed French women, caves, "Others", hippie science communes, psychic phenomenon, and "smoke monsters".
For those of you who want to know more about LOST, check out LOSTpedia or watch some free videos. Episode Expose is an excellent stand-alone Season 3 episode.
REGARDING SPOILERS
If you are going to discuss aspects of LOST that are irrelevant to the game at hand, I ask that you do the following:

I will be running this alone (Squashua), but I will be using an Alt account to supplement my mailbox. The alt has already been set-up and will be named at gametime. Rules for PMing me will also be posted at gametime.
[size=+2]PROBOARDS[/size]
You need to be able to access the proboards website www.proboards.com
You do not need to register anything or give out any private information.
I will have handled everything by the time the game has started.
[size=+2]SIGNING UP[/size]
To sign up, post below with some text, any text, in lime, preferably with an exclamation point. I don't care what it is; if you make a post and it has at least a limed exclamation point, you'll get signed up. I will not cap the player maximum.

Role PMs may go out earlier. Do not reveal receipt of Role PMs until after game is started.

This Phalla will take a lot of dedication from both of us.
All you need to know for now is the following:
[size=+1]4 : Factions[/size]
There will be teams/factions; most notably "The Survivors of Flight 815" and "The Others".
[size=+1]8 : Win Conditions[/size]
Everyone will be guaranteed a win condition that you need to meet to succeed.
[size=+1]15 : Roles[/size]
Depending on the number of players signed up, either everyone will at least get a unique role (if not ability) or there will be some generics. Allegiance will not necessarily be based on your character's in-show archetype. You may not distribute your role PM.
[size=+1]16 : Voting and Vote Retractions[/size]
There will be a logical, story-based reason for voting. There will be no penalties for not voting. No vote retractions will be necessary. A new vote will trump your a prior vote. There will be an !Abstain option in lieu of retractions. Any vote in a post that has been marked with a "Last edited by" tag will not be counted.
[size=+1]23 : Casualties[/size]
At the end of each night, when Casualties are accounted for, a list of forum names will be revealed. Roles will not be revealed to living players at the time of death.
[size=+1]42 : Dead Thread[/size]
There will be a dead thread. It will be managed off-site (on Proboards) for reasons that will become readily apparent to those who have died.
[size=+1]69 : LOST Theme[/size]
Again, this Phalla will use themes and ideas from the LOST television show, and will play at some theories that might be irrelevant to the show. I will be using LostPedia as a resource. No actual characters will appear.
[size=+1]88 : Participation[/size]
There are NO participation penalties. There are no requirements for posts per day. There will be no alternates. No one will be kicked out for inactivity. You are responsible for your own survival. No one is blacklisted (not even classic non-participant, Doug Grammar). If you are an inactive special, then people will judge you to be an ass in future games; you are welcome to dig your own grave.

Those who contacted me to reserve a spot have been PM'd with a reminder to check this thread, but were not automatically signed up.
