RC Minicopters

So I was at fry's buying some stuff for my new compy. When I came across this little deal for 15 bucks.



Now I am having a lot of fun with it but difficulty controlling it, but I have seen videos of people doing loops and such.

Anyone else a mini copter enthusiast? I think i might just become one.

(if this is off-topc sorry, I figured it is technology though!)

I bought one (much smaller, styrofoam) for twenty Euro at the Amsterdam airport and you were never really able to control it beyond making it turn or spiral like crazy.

I've seen some crazy RC copters, those suckers get pricey. Be careful those aren't gateway copters.

It's pretty sensitive to air vents in my place, but if the air's still, I can fly it down the hallway.

See, it has a little tail rotor to help tilt it forward. It's a cute lil bugger.

I'm at work right now trying to get this stupid thing to work right.

It was 2 buttons on it and they don't do anything, infact the only thing that seems to do anything is the make it spin faster stick and sometimes the, make you think its stable stick.

Mine is the Micro Mosquito. It was $70 at Radio Shack. It took a bit to get the hang of it but once I did it was a real "Aha!" moment.

Actually, I'll get the next Splinter Cell game for 360 when it comes out. I'm weak like that. Apparently, it's all hiding in plain sight, like Bourne Identity.

My double agent is on the 360, and also I'm thinking about going to buy a cool one like monkey bomb, apparantly the maker of the one I bought is out of business.

Guess thats why you don't buy helicopters on clearance

you fail to see the big picture though, if you work for 12 hours a day, you get at least a solid hour of flight time!

We use lots of those little helicopters in my engineering class. The key to it is doing it inside in a place with no wind and use tiny, tiny movements to control it.

Yep that's the aha moment I was talking about.

Push forward on the control stick for the tail prop and adjust with tiny side-to-side movements on the trim or left and right, whatever you have.
