So I need a new graphics card, but heres the catch, I'm still on AGP.

I am running a dying x700 atm, and I want some thing better.

    Price Range? Other System Specs? Perhaps which games you would prefer to run.

    If all else fails, this would be pretty good.

    I have a Radeon X1600 Pro. I'm sure I got it for about $250. I'd say I'm happy with it, but there's issues regarding Anti-Aliasing. In most games, turning on AA will make textures appear black. And with World of Warcraft (yes I still play) if I have the multi-sampling (which is AA) on I can't turn on full screen bloom or hide my UI without the frame rate dropping to 0. Normally I get 40 to 75 frames per second with AAx4 in WoW, depending how open the area is.


    Edit - I bought this card precisely a year ago.

    I always tell people to move away from AGP at this point but if you can't afford a new mobo/chip/memory and graphics card. either a Ati 1950pro or 7600gs. The 7900gs is better but you are spending cash towards an non-upgradable path.
