So yeah, this is a thread about Journeyman, the new time-travel drama from NBC.
Journeyman stars Kevin McKidd and his escaping cheekbones as Dan Vassar, modern-day Sam Beckett (the Quantum Leap one, not the Mark Twain one) and greatest-name-ever Moon Bloodgood as his mysterious on-again-dead-again girlfriend. There's a wife and a kid in there too, but they're not interesting enough to warrant witty descriptions. Plus, all the rest of NBC's group shots are shitty.
I wasn't expecting wonders from this show, but it was on after Heroes and I decided to give it a shot. I have to say, it was pretty damn good. I'm not ready to declare my undying love for it yet, but it certainly shows some promise. It's Quantum Leap again, of course, but the random jumps in and out of Dan's modern life add an interesting hook. Plus, the pilot establishes that the saving-the-past thing isn't as neat and clean as the former show would have you think.
I was pretty surprised when he found out he was supposed to save the guy just long enough to have a good kid and then kill him off before he could screw it up.
It's on Mondays at 10pm on NBC, after Heroes. In other words, west coasters should probably watch it tonight. It's good. Best of all, no ads for the goddamn Nissan Rogue.

Yeah, well, I really liked Quantum Leap. What can I say.
Keep in mind, this is the network that ran Surface for a full season, and that was a piece of shit. Even if Journeyman gets that bad (which they'd have to be trying to do), NBC will likely run it until spring.
