CPU and subwoofer proximity

So I finally remembered to bring my subwoofer down to my apartment. I have an old computer stand/desk thing. There are four shelves. The monitor goes on top, then the keyboard, then the CPU (on its side-- the only way it fits and the only way my goofy Dell's CD drive opens), then there is a big space at the bottom I would like to put my subwoofer on. It is down by my feet.

Is it ok to put it down there? It would be about two inches and the shelf between the sub and CPU. Is that ok? I once put the subwoofer close to my monitor, and my monitor acted all funny. I don't want to screw up my compy. This is probably a really stupid question.

Someone is probably going to correct me on this, but I think, with modern computers, a speaker magnet just can't generate enough magnetic force to really cause any problems. They will kill floppy disks, so if you have a time machine and like to play Zork you should be careful. Also, they will mess with monitors and TV's, as you saw. I don't think they'd do anything to an LCD though, I'm guessing you have a CRT.

The issue I would be more concerned with is vibration, which is only a risk depending on how you use the sub.

Shouldn't be a problem, except if its to close to your monitor in which case it can distort it since subs aren't shielded. Also if it vibrates enough to fuck something up either turn it down as you have it way to loud or get a better sub.
