Bought 1 month of Xbox 360 Live Gold, charged again for another one
So a while ago I bought one month of Xbox 360 Live Gold for 7.99, then regretted it b/c I had gotten bored of Gears of War multiplayer. Anyway it showed up on my credit card bill and I paid it. Now this month I got my bill and another one is on there for 7.99, dated to a couple days ago this month. I hadn't even had my Xbox 360 plugged in this month.
Has anyone had this experience before and would like to share how they handled it in the best way or something? Just... wondering... I'm gonna... go find their number and call them, I guess.
Alright, just cancelled it by calling 800-4MY-XBOX. God damn Microsoft (once again screwed by some suits/marketing guys hiding behind a faceless corporation) and not telling people about auto-renewal. 8 bucks down the drain... they couldn't give me a refund... they only give refunds for yearly memberships.
indeedy.
that's why they asked for credit card information when signing up for a free trial. (as a general statement about xbox live)
It's just easier and less costly to assume that people still want the service until they cancel than devoting customer service reps to call people and being all "would you like to renew?"

Or just having their computers send your Xbox and your PC notifications... Oh hey, they do that when you're on a free trial and (presumably) when your Xbox Live card is running out.

Yeah, it's in the fine print.
