I don't know what's going on, but I have a 56" 1080p behemoth and the game looks fairly aliased for me. I set the system to 1080p mode already btw. What the hell?
360 developers have been using less and less anti-aliasing. Noticed this back at launch w/ PGR 3, then later with Forza 2 and Bioshock. Now Halo 3. Not sure why, there are other very beautiful, graphically intense games (GRAW2) that still use a fair amount.
I really want a x-box 360 but I always end up buying a console and buying like 2 games for it. I have had my wii since day 1 and the only game I have is Zelda.

This happens to me pretty regularly too. Usually I end up thinking I bought the wrong console, wishing I had games from another system.
I dunno if it'll apply to you too, but when I got my 360, there were no end to the games I wanted to buy. I've already gotten a ton, and I play my 360 every day if I have time in the day. It's really a great feeling to finally have so many great games on a system I like.
Just throwing my hat in to say this game is pretty cool. Just started the solo campaign opening cinematics and my friends started multiplayer so I didn't get a chance to see anything. Team slayer is pretty cool. Last night was my first time playing any Halo online multiplayer. I have to say I get my ass handed to me quite often.

How the heck do I deploy the specials like the shield grenade thing? I keep picking up all these cool things, but I have no idea how to use them. (Radar jammers, shield grenades, etc)

Oh, and if the Arbiter was on the same ship as the Chief, then why is he on Earth and the Chief is lost?
SPOILER ALERT
The ship got cut in half when the portal closed on it. The section the Chief was on got left behind, making everyone on Earth (including the Arbiter) think he was dead. Instead, he just went on deep freeze, and Cortana sent a message back to Earth so that they may eventually be found. Maybe we will see him again in Peter Jackson's Halo Franchise, maybe not.

I have a Wii and it just sits there because most of the Wii games I've played have been fun for a couple hours and then nothing or are Paper Mario/RE4/Zelda.
The online aspect of Halo 3 alone would sell me a system. My god, so much awesome. It is just going to make me that much more angry when I take SSBM online for the first time.

Does anyone find the blue border to the screen annoying?
I like it, because it makes it seem like I'm looking through the Chief's mask, but I'll never understand why the HUD is blue while his visor is orange.
Multiplayer is decidedly fun when it's balanced and fresh, unfortunately the Team Slayer gametypes are either poorly chosen or bugged, because the only variants are 'normal' and 'shotties and snipers' and they're only played on Narrows, High Ground and Snowbound. Shotties and snipers wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the gametype 80% of the time. It gets vetoed and you just get it on another map.
Hooray for gametypes that cater to one play style, that is fun!
Try Big Team Slayer. I've gotten tons of variety playing that on Ranked.
How are you taking screenshots and vids? I can rewatch matches through the video lobby but when I try to save a screen shot or record something, its grayed out. The only explanation I can think of is that I'm playing the game split screen, so it records in split screen. Is that the reason I can't take screenshots? And if so, is there a way to make the video from the POV of a single player's screen, rather than split?
For the people who were saying they were getting a "Cannot Update" or "Failed to download update" error, whatever it is, while trying to update XBox Live:
My cousin was having the same problem. It turned out that the problem was simply that he was trying to use an existing gamertag that he hadn't joined to xbox live. The solution turned out to be creating a new gamertag and immediately joining it to live. Apparently his old gamer tag wasn't "good".
Strange solution, but that's what Microsoft told him to do, and it worked.
Oh dear LORD I hate shotty snipers. Yet some people apparently don't know the veto exists. Both Team Slayer matches I found last night were this craptastic game with plenty of bitching, but only I veto'd.

Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.
I think it may have one of the most beautiful loading screens I have ever seen. They'd talked about it before in one of the updates I think, but that is gorgeous. And i'm a short way in on Heroic, mostly holding my own, but it can be pretty punishing when a plan goes wrong. Jackal snipers haven't been that much of a problem, as long as you look out for them, but Brute Chieftans.. PAIN
