DVD burning software

Like many people, I have a bunch of files that I don't want gone. I also have a big stack of blank DVD+R discs that I've never gotten around to using. They are fast approaching their one-year anniversary with my closet, and I'd like to celebrate by burning my data to their underbellies. I don't know how to go about this, however. Googling just brings up a bunch of seedy-looking shareware, and I know there's a better option. Sourceforge wasn't much help either, but I'm admittedly pretty poor at finding things there.

So.

A free, quality program which will let me create DVD backups of my files please. Thanks!

    Nero.

I'm pretty sure they still offer a fully-functional demo, and it's still the best software I've used for burning. It's a little bloated nowadays, but you can do a custom install and avoid a lot of the crap.

I've tried a few other programs, and a few open-source ones, but they don't seem to be as reliable or well-featured as Nero. So I've stuck with it for a few years now. Only had a few bad burns ever, and all of which were likely the quality of disc as a problem.

Edit: Yep, still a demo: http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/nero7-demo.php. It's only good for 15 days though, but that's certainly enough to burn all the stuff you're looking at burning.
