Network Bridge in Vista

Short version: I have two NICs in my pc, one wired and one wireless, my wireless connection has internet access and works fine until I try to bridge it with the wired network.

Long version:

I have a wireless network in my house. My Xbox 360 and a computer (with wireless and wired network cards) are in a room away from the modem & router. Rather than buying the wireless adapter for the 360, I have been making a local wired network between the pc and 360 and bridging the two networks.

I recently upgraded to Vista and everything worked well except that I would get occaisional "hangs" in online games that I assume were caused by burst packet loss. Halo 3 in particular had a very hard time recovering from the interruptions and it was soon apparent that I just couldn't play like that. Thinking it was a problem with my wireless card, I purchased a new one and installed it. This caused some issues with Vista that required a lot of repeated uninstalling and manual registry cleanup, but I got the connections (well, I haven't really verified the wired network as I don't have media share set up and the 360 is the only other device on that network) working properly on their own. However, when I bridge the connections I lose internet access and it says that I am connected to the wireless network with limited connectivity. If I try to disconnect from the network and reconnect Vista can no longer find it. I can create a new connection and enter the same information (I'm not using encryption, but I'm not broadcasting my SSID) and it will behave the same way as the previous one, i.e. no internet access and the signal "disappears" once I disconnect.

My google searching hasn't been very helpful, so I figured I'd tap H/A while I continue to troubleshoot.
