Man, I knew I should just keep away from G&T. Firstly I got suckered into reinstalling Planescape a couple of months ago because of the thread going at the time, now I've just reinstalled this. Every time I pop in here to read about current offerings I end up going back to a game from some years ago. I'm obviously growing old;o((

Darn it all. Decided to sneak through the parking lot level to the briefcase to get the extra experience...never occured to me that I needed to fight my way OUT again. Stupid air vents without ladders at both ends... So there's my Malk, crouched next to the briefcase, with nought but an axe and a shotgun, faced with dozens of gangsters with their horrible, horrible SMGs, thinking "now what?" ...advice?

Also, picked up the rulebook for Vampire: the Requiem on a whim, hopefully some of my friends will be interested. Noticed complaints about the backstory, but hey, the plot's only as good as the storyteller, and I have a knack for that sorta thing.

    First post, yay!

There are vents you can use to sneak back out. You can climb up the grill/door things, as I recall.

If you have it on, deactivate Obfuscate. Quickly grab briefcase. IMMEDIATELY activate Obfuscate. If you cancel and reactivate it quickly enough around nabbing the briefcase, hilarity ensues. And by hilarity I mean they fight each other for you.

It the male Malkavian's final armor.

What about the body armor? Isn't that the final armor for all classes? Should have a different look even for a Malk. I only finished it as Toreador and Tremere tho, my Malk is up to the sewers, so I haven't seen it.

The body armor has the same look as the fourth outfit. Too bad really.

Yeah, I tried that, but there seems to be a bug or something. The nearest briefcase guy walks around the car, and then stands on it staring right at me. No fighting or anything, unless I have to trigger it some other way...I'm using the "True" patch by the way.

When he walks around, that's usually when he's supposed to notice it's missing and start blasting at the opposing thugs.

Basically, just do it all over again, and don't drop unless you're SURE he's done walking. Either that, or just simply take some blood packs and obfuscate until eternety.

By the way there is one quest you get from the Nosferatu hacker that involves setting up servers. Anyways one of the quest's objective is to steal money from a vault. When I opened the vault there was no money, but I was able to complete the quest. Is this a common glitch?

Sounds odd, but then the game is riddled with thousands of bugs. I only played the community patched version.

I've never heard of it. But the game is still kinda glitchy even with patches. It's somewhat anti-climatic anyway, the money you find is just a small clip of money sitting in the middle of the vault room.

Well, I finally got around to starting this the other night and ended up starting with a Malk using the question system. I forgot to name her, but I call her Hooty Boobalicious anyway. I can't remember if it was posted, but the widescreen gaming forum has a utility to unlock the anamorphic mode in game. You just need to patch a dll, and edit the config file.

The money is just in a money clip on the floor ($500 IIRC). Not a particularly well organized or well utilized 'vault' really.

    Tad spoilerlish i suppose
The final Malv one was the furry coat and floppy dr.suess hat right? That was what I remembered anyways. Nothing more cinematic than hacking my way through vampires in suits with a katana and a wobbly hat.

There is an anamorphic wide screen mode built into the engine, but it is disabled. Some people found a way to unlock it. You can find out more info here. There are some problems, you have to lower the fov to a strange number(between 65 and 75 to get it back to the proper proportions for 16:10 monitors) because it is anamorphic, otherwise things like like fov 160 or so, and certain objects aren't rendered thanks to the culling used.

I used an auto hex-editor for my widescreen. It seems to work pretty well, the actual game looks 100% fine, but the icons strike me as a bit squished, but that might just be my imagination.

So this World of Darkness MMO made by the same developers of EVE sounds incredibly promising. Territorial battles as would be princes fight amongst themselves against the backdrop of the camarilla/sabbat/anarch power struggle, with threats of gehenna, kue jin expansion, inquisition purges and werewolf rampages as ever present dangers.

This may be a nWoD MMO.

I do wish, however that it is oWoD, simply because the lore is badass.

It's definitely going to be nWoD. It'd be kinda silly to make one based on the old system with everything White Wolf's been pushing nowadays. It also allows for more freeform stuff, considering how the settings are laid out and built.

Just finished my second playthrough of the game, and...

Wow, I missed a lot going for the Kuei Jin ending the first time.
Cutting LaCroix the fuck up was SO satisfying.

Also, it let me realize how damn overpowered Celerity was(First playthrough was Toreador.) I mean, Bloodshield was disgustingly overpowered, but comparing 1/8th damage to NEVER GETTING HIT, and it's obvious which one wins.

Now I just need to run through as a Malk and a Nosf... I know which one is going to be more fun.

When you drop down there, the briefcase is behind them laying on the ground, which in stealth mode you can nab easily without powers (I did it on my tremere). Then they start shooting each other and you get a bonus.

Just finished my first play-through as a male Ganrel. Went hand-to-hand the whole time, war-form is fun as hell.

What do you guys recommend I choose for my second play-through?

Do Malks offer the biggest change in gameplay? Playing a Nosferatu doesn't seem like it'd be much fun ...

I recommend malk. Malk malk malk. Best dialogue options in any game, ever. Never tried nosfer, but crawling round in sewers the whole time doesn't sound like much fun at all, especially for practically 0 reward.

I think playing as a Malk the first time around is cool, because when your character's dialogue is all in riddles you aren't sure what they are saying and it's fun to try and figure out what's real and what isn't.

Obfuscate. Only thing is that Malks get the same discipline. It really is fun though, at level 5 Obfuscate, I'm basically an invisible sword that keeps perforating chests while people around me panic.

That and I think Nosferatu have a few unique quests. I'd still go Malk though.

After you've finished Bloodlines with that, if you enjoy pain, install one of the unofficial patches. It doesn't matter which one.

even with the bugs, the 1.2 patch will let it run well enough. I'd just make sure to quick save after you do anything major. The game saves pretty often for you too. You won't lose too much to game breaking bugs, if you run into any.

We're starting up a PnP game again :) Playing a gangrel, with one dot in protean, one in animal and two in fort; I figure being tough will help, but I can't pass up the ability to have my eyes glow red, or talk to small fuzzy snacks. I'm going in as an ex-rancher, apparent age is late 40's through mid 50's (physical age at death was 49). Been dead for 10-15 years. Tough guy, high stam and strength, specced for toughness/survivability but not very politically astute; minimal in etiquette and politics. Ought to be fun, but the cotierie...oh my wife and her friend are playing a toreador and malk.
