Barcode scanners

Recently (today) I have been put in charge of creating an inventory system. My company would like to use a wireless barcode scanner to track incoming and outgoing inventory. We need one that we can scan a barcode and enter the number of product that is on a pallet. The thing is, I know nothing about barcode scanners or companies that make them. I would like a scanner that doesn't come with any software since we plan to write the software in house. Thanks for any help.

    I came to H/A for help with barcodes and scanners a little while ago and there were a few helpful folk. Incase they don't show for a while, take a look through my original thread.
