You know the famine skull never had that much of an effect on me. Even with it on there is still a ton of ammo just laying around. Does this happen for anyone else?
I've found that there are so many guns that it is effectively nullified. Unless you're trying to use human weapons or something, but that's pretty rare (you're better off trading for weapons than killing them for them...if for some reason you were inclined to kill them solely for their weapons...).
However, it can be really annoying, because giving a rocket launcher with 8 rockets to a marine will net you maybe 1 or 2 if he dies and you pick it up. It only makes a difference with power weapons though, like killing the hammer brutes on Covenant and having them drop a hammer with 9 charge in it...woooo, one swing!

I've also noticed that traded weapons have a reduced amount as well. Maybe not the full half, but trying to do the Storm on a scoring run and swapping the BR that one of the marines had, I noticed that I only had about a mag and a half spare with Famine and maybe 2 full reloads without.
So I'm playing solo and I see a grunt running around the area with two blue glowing dots on it. I think, what the hell, then get distracted. The grunt continues running around, eventually heading straight at me from the side after about ten seconds or so. Just before he explodes and kills me I realize he's had two plasma grenades stuck to him the entire time. Pretty rad :P
He was doing a suicide run, it's actually pretty fucking common (and horrible when you are doing a famine run and you are out of amunition and you only picked up a plasma pistol and it isn't bringing the fucker down).
I was mostly surprised at how long he ran around with those things on him, but if it's common then it's cool. I've only played through once in co-op, so I haven't really noticed much of this stuff.

Turn on Mythic and Thunderstorm, then melee a grunt so his breathing apparatus falls off. He'll run around for a bit like he's suffocating/dying, then suddenly be okay and start shooting you. It's really quite amusing. I'll see if I can get the video of my friend's 360.
I just bought Halo 3 and am now on the fifth mission. Is there any reason to wait until I finish the campaign to play on Live? I don't have a Live Gold account yet so I was thinking of waiting until after.

not really although finishing the story before you hop into multiplayer is good since some of the maps have big spoilers.

It wasn't a spoiler in the beta. Valhalla's skybox in the beta was just clouds.

I mean, yeah, it's a spiral galaxy. But not what I'd think the milky way looks like

I tried taking one I had put on my file share up and taking it down, but that didn't put it in recent screenshots either.
