I totally agree, its an invasion of privacy and should be illegal. The problem is your never going to be able to prove, or even bring a realistic case for a firm not giving you the job because of your myspace page. The only way it'll ever get stopped is someone already working for a firm that does it making a stand, and sadly people like that are too few and far between to be any real threat.

Yeah except that it doesn't make sense; you posted that shit in public. There's nothing wrong with them looking at things that are done in public, as long as they don't do things like fire you when they find out that you're not hetero or something.
That's also why I never name my employer(s) on this site or say anything that really nails down where I work.

Pretty much the same reason why I never give out my employer's name. I live in a state with a an "at will" firing policy. I can quit and leave at will with no notice or good reason, but then again they can get me of me the same way.
