Already got Orange Box so I'm covered there (first purchase of everything in it though so no gifts I'm afraid) but if anyone wants to help me with a Guest Pass to CS:S and/or DoD then I'd be much obliged.
Thanks! And holy SHIT is Steam making it hard to put in basic info for me!
Getting HL2 at 20K/s.
When does it let me choose where to install it? I don't want it on C:
It goes where you installed Steam to.

Well, dammit. Does it allow me to move it, then? I only installed Steam on C: because that's where I put all my 'Programs' while my media/games/etc go on E:.

Don't think you can, unless you wanna go registry hacking after you physicall move it. It'd honestly be easier to just reinstall the whole thing.

Somebody said they could just move their entire folder and it worked fine on the other drive. So you could try that, too.

You mean, uninstall the whole thing (Steam included) and then re-install Steam to E: ?

That's what he's saying, but I recommend this:
My Computer > Click Steam folder > Edit > Move to folder > then select the location.
That's how it is on XP, don't know about Vista. Works out fine; I did that when I got a new hard drive last year.
edit: That used to be Steam's official answer, but apparently that has changed.
I would love to try Half Life 2, just to see if it would run on my computer.
Anyone feeling especially nice tonight?
If not, I'll more than likely take my chances this weekend with the orange box.
I'm sure you'd be able to run it. The Source engine is disturbingly forgiving. I can't play FEAR at any higher than 800x600 on Low everything, but Half-life 2 runs at 1680x1050 with High everything (AA excluded).

Sounds good, I can't wait to get into this on the weekend.

And you can't gift the 360 copy; and all five games are on one disc, so you can't give it away seperately either.
Well, I'm still waiting on someone to gift me HL2 and EP1. If Team Fortress 2 is as bad-ass as it sounds, I may pick that up, too.

Write me a paragraph telling me why Freespace 2 is your most favourite space flight sim.
Oh, and British/Canadian spelling please. We like the letter 'U'
If I like it, you get EP 1 :-P
