Camera Film Question

Hey everyone, I have a really specific question for a homework assignment. Before anyone starts yelling, just hear me out, because it is quite brief:

Does fully exposed, yet undeveloped, camera film allow any light to pass through (ie is it translucent to any degree)?

Im talking like the sort of film you buy in roll form at a convenience or grocery store.
