I recently got a hold of a 4gig Nano to replace my dead 1st gen iPod. I love it, but I took a little bit of a hit as far as storage space. No big deal, but I need to figure out how to make use of smart playlists to get the following done...
1) I'd like to dedicate 2gigs to a lighter version of a playlist on my MacBook which has all my 5-star rated songs. I'd also like these songs to update every time I sync, making sure the songs with the lowest number of plays are on the list, thereby keeping the list fresh.
2) I'd like to be able to figure out a method of putting a few whole albums on there that I'd like to listen to in the next couple of days. How can I keep track of which full albums I have on the iPod?
3) I'd like to make sure no duplicate songs get on the iPod. Does iTunes take care of this automatically?
4) Is there any way to make sure a playlist on my Nano is sorted alphabetically by artist?

Rating IS 5 star
Limit to 2GB chosen by least play count

Make a playlist and drag and drop manually.

As long as the song only appears once in your library.

The playlist is sorted by the way you view it in iTunes, so set the play list to be sorted by artist alphabetically when you sync.
