Oh, I guess I should put some suggestions up here for my Santa... :)

I have a Wii and a GBA and an old computer. I see some people got DS games last year but that wouldn't really work for me.
I have a pretty broad range of taste, so get me anything. I enjoy anime, sci-fi, beer (if that's really that popular a present), fun toys, anything from Thinkgeek :), and I wear a Large sized shirt if that's relevant.

So outside of some game system restrictions, I'm good for anything, but there are some ideas and a direction to go in if you get me.

I'm adding this for no particular reason. :D

    I am so in.

4000 Wii points last year. This year? the MOON!
    I wish

    EDIT: more details on everything.

My Santee last year was frugus, and he got 3 different thinkgeek things, USB missile launcher included.

I am 20, living with my parents, so keep it somewhat clean.

I am open to creativity on the part of my santa, as I think that that's part of the deal with secret santa, but I should put at least *something*

T shirt size is medium, I own Wii, DS, PSP, and I have a computer capable of playing anything that does not *require* DX10. I also have a love of Mario and weird Japanese Nintendo things.

But really, I'm a PA fourmer posting in GnT, really, I think it's easy to figure out likes/dislikes

I'll jump the boat and say that really anything you get me I'll enjoy. I don't really care what it is, really. I like gifts from everywhere... But like Lave said up above, if I get someone out of country: I'd like something from your area that we can't get over in the states. I'm sure it'll be easy (I used to live in Germany, and miss it).

I own a DS, Wii, PS2, 360, N64, and SNES. I'm pretty much set on those for games, but I do enjoy my Atlus games. I also wear an XXL (or XL if you can't get XXL... I like to have loose clothing) shirt, and I always love shirts.

A flag would be sweet too. Boy I hate doing this... I don't know why. But honestly, buy me something from the heart and I'll enjoy it as much as anything else. :)

But - I just want to mention, that taking some dead coral from a beach is a-ok, if your going to keep and treasure it, but don't buy it from sellers, as it promotes the destruction of the precious things. But saying that I wasn't allowed to take the Lava from Hawaii because it offends God, and I still did (being a massive atheist), and I treasure it.

Yeah, I found it dead on the beach. Wouldn't have bought it/snapped it off alive for the reasons you said.

Although I did threaten to 'go colononial' on peoples asses if they didn't do what I said, and also complained that you can't carry around more than 999 of their currency (rupees), because it will just disapear if you get more than that.

    Good times.

I knew you wouldn't have, but after promoting the idea of collecting stuff, I couldn't let it lie without doing the "end of an 80's cartoon" and teaching us all an obvious method - some wierd guilt surfacing no doubt..

I should probably post my 'gift preferences':

I have a DS, PSP, 360, Wii, PS2. I have ALOT of games, so i'd rather if you don't go this route.

I'm into halo.... actionclix. It's a guilty pleasure. I know, I have issues.

Big fan of music, all in general. So I don't mind some CDs that you like, I'd get a kick out of it. (Currently listening to the blues brothers.)

    I'm not into manga/anime also.

Child's play is a good route for me as well if you feel that's where you want to go.

I'll leave everything up to the creativity of whoever gets saddled with me.

For compatibility reasons, however, here's the console list and T shirt size: Wii, 360, PS3 (fully equipped with Emotion Engine), DS.

    T-shirt size is L.

Child's Play donations would also be acceptable, though :-)

Also K_A I hope you get some grace for Christmas this year.

I love both this quote and your title, Einhander.

Thanks. I think that's one of my top five favorite movies.

On a side note, if I get someone who is from outside of the US, could you send me a little bit of money? I collect foreign money and old money, so if you've got the equivalent of like a penny, nickel, quarter, whatever, that would be rad. Just throw some pocket change in with my gift, if you are doing the mailing? Or some dirt in a jar? It sounds dumb, but I think having some dirt from a country on the other side of the planet would be pretty damned awesome. I've got a small jar of seawater from the Pacific Ocean sitting on my desk, and I only live three hours away from the coast.

And to backtrack a couple of pages (back to the K_A madness), if someone gets me a flag from another country, I am going to wave that shit proud and hang it from my fucking window. I don't care if it's South Wangistan, that flag is going to get flown.

Also, sometime during the week I think I'll add a link to a list of games I own to my sig, in case my Santa wants to get me something along those lines.
    DVG wrote: »
It is also acceptable to me to, instead, just buy something for Child's Play on my behalf

As much as I like getting gifts, if my Santa feels compelled I would be more than supportive of my gift heading to Child's Play as well.

I finally just recently got my girlfriend to watch it.

Also, I have an 1881 Morgan O silver dollar sitting in front of me. It's only worth about $15, but I still like it.

    What was my idea?

I have far too many ideas to keep track of them all.

One of my favorites was marketing pants (probably to inner city youth, with the main sales demographic probably ending up being suburban youth) with weights sown in to the bottom coffus which would automatically cause the pants to sag. It would probably make a lot of money and/or fail horribly.

Another idea was bluetooth shoes that vibrate on incoming calls, because it is not disruptive to other people in a work environment, but you will DEFINITELY notice it yourself.

I'm in again this year. Figured I'd actually post something about myself for once. Have a Wii/DS/PS2 combo going right now. I love toys and gaming bling, and I never buy it for myself, so pretty much anything would be new and welcome. I got a kick ass non-fiction book 2 years ago from a wonderful Candian who's screen name I now forget. I know I PM'd you Canadian guy, but thank you again from the depths of my heart. So... pretty much anything will do.

I live with my fiancé and neither of us will be offended by anything. Except spiders. She hates spiders, so if you were going to send a box of those, please don't.

As for what to get me...

I where a size 3XL t-shirt. I have a large head, so adjustable size hats are the only ones I can safely go with.

I own a Wii, a 360, a PSP, a DS, a GBA SP, a NGPC, a broken Game Gear, and a PC that works some of the time. I ABSOLUTELY do not need any DS games, though, and as for other games, honestly, As for other games, since I work weekends at Gamestop I can get them at a discount myself, so while I will definitely appreciate anything that you get me, they pretty much fall under the catagory of "stuff I could more easily get myself." I even get Microsoft and Nintendo points at a discount. What I DON'T yet have is a PS3, so while I am not suggesting that you should buy one for me, if I end up with an uber generous benefactor who for whatever benevolent reason is looking to spend $texas, that would be something I would enjoy owning.

I have an eclectic taste in music, prefering mostly stuff with witty lyrics to it. Some of myfavorites are They Might Be Giants, Dan Bern, MC Frontalot, Tom Waits, Atom and his Package, and I'm starting to get into Jonathan Coulton as well (I am in the process of ordering all of his CDs at the moment), among others.

My ideal gift is somethingcool and/or useful that I would never have bought for myself, either because I could justify spending the money with all of the other purchases that I make, or because I just wouldn't be able to get it in my area or was unaware that it was something worth owning.

But, as I said earlier, I will be appreciative of ANYTHING that you get me, as long as it is not clothing that is the wrong size. I apologize in advance, but being forced by society to buy all of my clothes at specialty stores (because regular stores don't carry clothes for a man who is 6'5" with a 7' wingspan) has made me touchy about clothing sizes.

I should probably jump in and say that I wear either a M or L shirt, and that I own a DS and a pretty decent computer. I don't really like anime, but just about anything else would be awesome. I don't think books are "teh gay", but I haven't read anything for fun in quite a while, so thats definitely an option. I think the most fun part of this is being surprised, so I'm really up for just about anything.

P.S. Please don't draw cocks and dicks all over the outside of the box.

P.P.S. If you live in South Wangistan, I would love a flag.

Geez, you guys are such Christmas Nazis
Sorry, I just wanted to be able to say 'In like Godwin'

I'm in the camp of people who will be overjoyed to get just about anything, so no itemized list of suggestions from me.

However, since I haven't maeked poast too much, I will say that my interests include zombies (and yes, I have Max Brook's max books and think Shaun of the Dead is one of the greatest movies), Nintendo, and, uh... awesome stuff. I'll post of list of what I gots in my sig sometime to help avoid duplicates and to maybe inspire.

But really, I'm open to bask in your coolness. Oh, and I'm not living with the folks, so anything goes (just don't make me regret saying that).

It'll be interesting to see what the gift of '07 is going to be. As I recall reading last year's thread, the gift of '06 was pretty much World War Z and Nerf Mavericks. What can possibly top that to sum up the gifts of this year?

I'm in. First time doing this.

Some useful info. I'm tall, wear medium size shirts. I'm 22. I own a Wii, 360, PSP, DS, PS2. I usually buy everything I want however. I also have older systems, like a NGPC, NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast, N64.

Um, I like movies and games, and toys I guess. I'm open to completely random gifts. I love to travel, in fact I collect a knife from every place I've visited, and take a ton of pictures.

Not sure what else, I imagine my secret santa could gleam more ifnormation from my post history.

I probably should throw some info on here.

I'm living with my parents (being 16 and all).
    I own a DS, 360, and high-end PC.
    I wear medium-size shirts.
    I like movies and boardgames.
I like Firefly, Harvey Birdman, and Heroes.
I'm not particulary picky about gifts, as long as they do something. Therefore, anything I can play with, watch, eat, throw, etc. I'll like, but things like dirt, paperweights, and so forth will probably end up buried under crap on my dresser. This is not because I don't appreciate the gift, but because I'm terribly bad at finding permanent resting spots for decorative items.
Cool stuff from other countries would be great, as long as it's not anime/manga. Unless it's Cowboy Bebop anime/manga. Then it's fine.
EDIT: Plus I love books. Adore them. Send books. As long as they're in English.

And my Santa has my full permission to dig through my posts. I don't have many, though.

Well, signed up today. I had a ton of fun both giving and receiving last year. My Santa was really creative with their packaging and gifts, and even went beyond the call of duty and sent me an additional gift after finding out I already had one of the things they sent me. Come to think of it, I ought to send them a gift outright regardless of whether I get them or not. I may post pictures later, the packaging was really the icing on the cake.

Anyway, as far as buying gifts for me, I'm pretty easy to please. Shirt sizes are large or extra large. I've got a Wii, a DS, a PS2, and an xbox of the non-360 variety. You're more than welcome to browse my posts, though of late that won't do you much good because I've been doing more browsing and lurking than posting, ie. you wouldn't know by looking at my posts, that I am deeply entrenched in all things Half-Life right now and am a hairsbreadth away from carrying a crowbar with me at all times, you know, just in case.
I collect (or try, anyway) to collect video game action figures and paraphernalia, so that's always a win.
