The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
The previous thread about this was derailed somewhat (I admit some responsibility for this) and I figured it was time to revive the idea now that August is upon us.
I, like some other people, it seems, will be going to PAX with someone who is a much bigger fan of gaming than I am. It was previously suggest by Alpha that Robert, being the head PAX guy would be person to perhaps organize an official outing to relieve non-gaming significant others during the weekend.
My question is: Mr. Khoo, are you still interested?
If you're staying on the eastside, downtown kirkland is pretty nice to walk around and bum around on the water. If you do go make sure you try the peanut butter burger at The Slip.
there's a lot more non-gamer things to do on the westside and beyond- There's Alki Beach in WESTWEST seattle which is super nice that time of year as well as downtown Seattle which is kickass for shopping etc. If you want to check out the more diverse groups, there's (as bionic suggested), Capitol Hill's Broadway and the U-district/UW Campus.
Some hipster areas you also might want to take a look at are Ballard and Fremont, both with more food joints than anything else, but nonetheless nice areas.
If you wanted to plan a day of it with an itinerary etc., I certainly wouldn't mind offering any assistance. Despite PAX being totally awesome I understand the significant others may be overwhelmed with how cool it is. Besides, Seattle rocks- you should take a gander if you can. getting an official trip organized might be fun.
There are a few choices out there- i know there is a group going over to the Sci Fi museum. What we can do is post on the front page for those of you wanting to go to meet at a certain place in front of the Meydenbauer center perhaps.
I thought for a bit about devising an itinerary, but then i realized not many people would actually follow it but rather splinter off into groups that wanted to see certain attractions.
So perhaps a listing of cool places to go and a link on the front page by one of the guys would suffice? What do you think.

Maybe we should use this as a way to try to organize some sort of touristy splinter group for people who wanted to see some of the sights.
