Pre-PAX Movie?

Last year it was "Hero" on Friday Night at the Bellevue Galleria.

Any plans for a Thursday evening/Friday morning first matinee movie?

I'll edit this first post with showtimes for the theater that's within walking distance of Meydenbauer Center if there's enough interest.

"The Cave" opens on the 26th. It looks like it could either be really cool or really cheesy.

I'm leaning towards the latter, though.

I know it'll be decided on the spur of the moment, but 2046 sounds good to me. Plus, it keeps with the precedent of Fine Asian Cinema we set last year.

Of course, it's a bit obtuse to be playing at the Galleria. If Brothers Grimm is there, that'd make a good substitute.

Edit 3: According to Regal, Grimm doesn't open 'til the 26th. Fuck.

2046 is a futuristic drama from acclaimed asian director Wong Kar Wai.

It is probably violent but beautiful, if hard to follow.

Of course, I am going off of a trailer I barely remember, and the rest of his work, which I really like.

Tmonkey suggested we check into the local arthouse cinemas. They're more likely to be showing something other than the amazing all-shit lineup for that weekend at Regal, and also more likely to offer group rates.

I dunno. Probably can't do it at the Meydenbauer. Doubletree parking lot would get us kicked out of our hotels. That's a bad thing. Hmm. Who's that dude whose house is up in the hills near Bellevue?

Don't forget, that's just the earliest warning we can get for the same theater where Hero was shown last year. Once it gets to be within a week we can make a fully-informed decision to bail.

But yeah, the movies this summer have sucked.

Why when I was a boy... mumble mumble.. uphill both ways...mumble mumble...

I thought the movies this year, not this summer in particular however, have been better then most years... Just for the sake of this is the first time I remember seeing multiple movies multiple times in the theatre, Hitchhiker's twice, Star Wars twice, and Batman Begins three times.

War of the Worlds was good up until the sudden shitty ending, but the new Charlie and the Chocalate Factory was quite tasty. Too bad Serenity comes out a month later then wed like, would have made a perfect Pre-PAX movie.
