I've been precariously placed in a position where, upon graduating from the school I'm at, I'll have a choice between
A) Being on my own in a strange country with nothing but a high school education to go on
or
I know pawns can become queens. But it still will be aligned to side on which it is placed. I don't want to be a pawn. I don't want to be a tool of the government or anyone else.
So I'm almost certainly going to be stuck with A.

I'm getting my entire education in two and half years. It's going to be Hells of difficult getting into university without the military's "helping hand". They've put me in this position on purpose. I can't say I was much better off before they brought me here, but all the same, I hate being used.

Become a carpenter, or mason, or electrician, or plumber, or similiar. By the time you graduate and get through trade the building slump will likely be coming back up a little better and those guys make way more money than some degreed professions. Plus you can take some easy courses at a local uni/college to become a construction manager which pays even more for doing less.
