Kid Rock - Rock N Roll Jesus?

As a British Citizen Kid Rock is a bit of an odd one, I love his music yet cant help but feel this is simply because I don't take him as seriously as maybe his fellow Americans have to. How representative is he of the feelings of your average citizen state side, I think hes awesome, however he might be very niche over in the States, I couldnt possibly know. I'm guessing allot of his fans over there are simply one step up from the I.C.P, or he loved everywhere? (He must be liked somewhat by you guys, I mean, he sells a fair bit)

I just bought his new album, its very entertaining and superbly rocking
