Hey folks, been lurking forever and decided to finally post some of my own work.
Had a lot of free time to practice lately, so I got crackin on a 3D version of McGib's Gabriel.
Character was built in Maya and further detailed and textured in ZBrush.
Still working on textures, and the pants need to be fixed after posing the legs, so before I finished I was curious if anyone had any crits or suggestions.
Thanks much,
- Wraithzula
Do not be too hasty in entering that room. I had Taco Bell for lunch!
The eyes look a bit awk, it may be that they're too small (eyebrows too). Also, the lower half of the face feels overly long. It's like you're trying to capture to 2d style of the image, but it needs to be modified a bit more to look acceptable in 3d.
I'd also post McGibb's original pic as your ref in the thread. May make it easier for people to give CC.
Your blocking is a bit weird, it changes the mood of the piece:
Yours:
"This gun's kinda neat"
McGibs:
"This is my tool, I'ma mess you up!"
Bring the left arm in closer and point his eyes more forward. Other then that I really like your model, and envy your model making skills.
