Also after reading the Wiki for Waiting for Godot to make sure I wouldn't miss any references or anything, it sounds like a really neat play that I need to read.
I recommend seeing it performed; there's bound to be one or two good movie versions out there. As someone who had to read it for English class and subsequently saw it performed, I can safely say that you lose a lot if all you have is the script in front of you. The same goes for most plays, actually.

My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.
How's the second game compared to the first one? I'm enjoying the first one well enough (I'm up to the Gourd Lake case), but I don't know if I'd want to play through another game of the same type all over again.
It took me too long to figure this out: Diego Armando. I mean, I figured out who he was as soon as I saw him in the flashback, of course, but the actual name stuff I didn't get until the end.
W-W-WH-WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?
I didn't notice that at all. Good catch!
Hooray - the gameplay is identical with a minor new feature. The writing / stories are just as good, I'd say. There are several typos, if that sort of thing gets your goat (it gets mine).

I put the emphasis on "dot" in my mind, like "g'dough".
I'd have thought the writing may have changed a bit as they began to find develop an understanding of their fanbase. Also, wasn't the first game originally for the GBA? The jump to DS doesn't affect things much?
I'm on Case 3 now, but Case 2... was really mediocre. Easily my least favorite case, including the first cases of either game and the third case of the first game. It was the only time through the series that I've said "bullshit" in my mind atleast a couple times.
I've heard Case 3 is another sorta lame one, though 4 is really cool apparently. And of course I've heard nothing but good things about T&T, so I must press on.

The first 3 games are GBA ports. The one we're getting in Q1 `08 is the first ground-up DS version, I think.

That's a pretty cool little thing I completely missed. thanks.

Case three of JFA is probably my least favorite in the entire series.
It's really sad that JFA was such a mediocre game, because I love Franziska.

Meh, Franziska has pretty bad writing, at least in the American version. In all honesty I sort of felt like I understood the character they were going for, but found that the writers were too incompetent or too unintelligent to make the stereotype well. JFA has pretty poor humor all around, to be honest. The whole repeating "foolish" thing she does makes her just seem like she's dumb and doesn't really add anything.
EDIT:
Also, if you said "bullshit" to yourself during case 2, you'll almost definitely do it for case 3 due to a couple of explanations they use.
Franziska was really the weakest prosecutor (short of Winston Payne of course.) This makes sense, considering everything, but she really was somewhat disappointing as a foe. Edgeworth really made you fight, Manfred von Karma was a wonderful bastard, and Godot, while not nearly as intimidating as the aforementioned, was nevertheless solid and likeable. Franziska's schtick got a little old (unlike, shockingly, Godot's) and she really wasn't very impressive.
Man don't talk no shit about Payne. That pompadour will mess you up.
From what I've seen, Godot is really fond of luring you into traps where you incriminate the defendant yourself, whereas Edgeworth just took you head-on.
I think the "oh shit" animations of the prosecutors are my favorite parts. Edgeworth's is rad, where he gets unbelievably pissed. Godot has a more of the "fuck, how did I slip up there" thing going on. Manfred von Karma's is my favorite though, not out of any particular quality of it, but in the fact that you don't see until you've solved the case. And that is a testament to how fucking awesome he is.
Not quite, as that one is more of the "oh shit I got nailed for the crime" animation. I was thinking of the arm clutch, which would be a bit more comparable to the general Critical Hit! animation.

Well, I lost that one a while ago. Still have Feenie's "OH SHIT!" somewhere, though.

well, i just like how
Edgeworth copied Manfred's mannerisms. The pout and finger wag, the gay pirate shirts, etc.
Guh, the cross-examination music just gets worse with each sequel. Why did they have to tinker with what works!?
it gets better in T and T, IMO. memorable songs, at least. JFA only had one memorable song, and it was shared between two characters. actually, scratch that, I liked Regina and the Search music for case 4.

Try here. They've got gifs of darned near everything.
On an unrelated note, I think I'm going to like Apollo Justice as a character. I saw his "oh crap!" expression in one of the trailers, and I don't think I'm ever going to get tired of seeing it in-game.

Oh, wow, and judging by these sprites Trucy is both incredibly cute and a badass.
You know, I really didn't like the over-the-top characters in case 5 of the first game, but seeing the really fresh looking designs they have in Apollo Justice makes me really appreciate character designers.
I think they're just two totally different styles really. Personally, I think I'm going to like the AJ style a whole lot more, now that I've seen it.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
Like I said, he just didn't mesh with the PW character designs. With the AJ character designs, though, he fits in perfectly.
And he is returning.
I'm kind of sad that AJ won't be featuring Gumshoe, though.
That's too bad. Gumshoe has been my favorite minor character since Case 3 of JFA:
Maya: "You always seem to be working so hard, Detective."
Gumshoe: "I'd rather not be working hard, but with crime you don't make your own hours."
Gumshoe: "If I have to be at the circus anyways, I want to see the lion tamer and the tightrope."
Gumshoe: "However, no matter where I go, the show is always the same..."
Gumshoe: "Dead body. Stage left."
I was hoping he'd be one of the few characters to survive the transition.
