I thought for Mass Effect you were generally always "good" it just varied from Jack Bauer to Superman style of good.
Holy crap, that should be an an actual scale used in every day life.
I don't like to piss off characters in video games when I don't need to. As a kid I used to dream about Mario climing out of a drain in my house and choking me to death for killing him so many times in game.
So I'll probably go through being as good as possible. A good lesbian of course.
I'm going to take my first playthrough as close to what I'd do IRL as possible. I have a sneaky suspicion that I may be closer to the Jack Bauer side of things than Superman.
So I read the book about a month ago. The one thing that bothered me (and maybe I just missed it) but, have they explained how all the alien races and humans communicate with each other. Because I don't remember reading it anywhere.
Edit: I would imagine it has something to do with the prothean technology but I wasn't sure.

Oh yeah. I picked up the Mass Effect preorder disc. Has 8 gamerpics and 2 themes. The music is nice, too.
I should check my Gamestop tomorrow if they have any. Ratchet & Clank and Ace Combat 6 come out tomorrow, so I'll be heading down there.
Also, I love Mass Effect's power of persuasion. I showed a bunch of videos of it to a friend who has never owned nor wanted to own a console, and now he's going to go pick up a 360. Thank you, Mass Effect; you're the Saint Patrick of the gaming world.

Preordered the LE today from EBStop and overnighted it to my home address. My last class before Thanksgiving break is on the 20th. I'm hoping that I'll be basking in all of this game's glory within an hour of walking out the door of my hall.
I might have to work out a covert op to bring a TV and the 360 to my grandmother's house on Thanksgiving so that I can come downstairs to eat then hide in my little room where I can blow baddies away. The cries of pain will be loud, and they will be plentiful.
I will not leave my place until I have Mass Effect in my hands. Definitely playing this on my parents' HD set, which is actually just like my set but smaller.:whistle:

I preordered at gamestop too, but I'm planning on switching it over to mario galaxy so I can order the special edition.
hopefully we get the disk either way, but if not, I wonder what happens if I go ask for the disk now and switch the preorder later, or if I get locked in. I am not looking to do this, just wondering if it's a backup option.
