The greatest gaming tattoo, or indeed any tattoo at all is :
I know you feel like you've been drinking a few kegs of
Styx wash, but you need to CENTER yourself. Among your
possessions is a JOURNAL that'll shed some light on the dark of
the matter. PHAROD can fill you in on the rest of the chant, if
he’s not in the dead-book already.
Don’t lose the journal or we'll be up the Styx again. And
whatever you do, DO NOT tell anyone WHO you are or WHAT

Sometimes late at night, I think I hear my back crying out for this. Thankfully rational thought has triumphed thus far, but how long can I hold out? How long?
With regards to covering up tattoos, a friend of mine has an amazingly intricate tattoo over his upper arm, right down to a couple inches past his elbow. Why does it stop there? Because that's about how far one would roll up their sleeves in a business environment.
I've always loved the yakuza style.
Man, this thread sucks for posting tats, and I definitely can't help it.

My best friend has a tattoo of the Crab Clan symbol from Legend of the Five Rings.
I can't find a good picture of the tat, but here's the symbol:
One of my friends was considering the Usagi Yojimbo clan mon for a while. Mon's make pretty decent tattoos, something simple and iconic.
yeah, exactly.
It's not that he's a huge L5R fan (he was, for a while, but he'd long since grown out of it by the time he got the tat) it's that crabs meant something to him in a fashion not unlike a spirit animal and the mon was a nice design.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

Man. I'm a Cancer. I used to be really into Five Rings and the Crab was one of my favorite clans, and I really love their defender image and what they stand for.
I'm not really the type go get tattoos, but I think if I did get one, I'd have a good idea of what to get now.
I would get a tattoo of a symbol that most people would find neat and only gamers would recognize. I wouldn't tattoo Link on my ass or something stupid like that.
No, I think most black and white (or grey, whatever) tats are terribly bland. Unless it's something small and fairly solid like the aforementioned Triforce, otherwise it's a big patch of various shades of grey. I'm not saying they need to have the colors of the rainbow or anything, but there's nothing wrong with a sensible application of color.
Wasn't there some new type of tattooing process which makes them super easy to remove? Whatever happened to that? If it wasn't for the lifetime commitment I'd be rocking up the Symbol of Torment.
Why are people considering getting things that they'll have to lie about later?
I like WoW a lot but you're a moron if you think I'll go around telling everyone that.
Well as long as you don't get a tat of a goddamned MS Warrior then you're set, right?
But what if he wants the tattoo just for himself and not for others to see? I would put mine so you could only really see it if I took my shirt off so that means not many people will see it, unless I go swimming.

Or other things. The ladies go nuts for video game tats they don't understand the origins of. :P

It's your body, but if you feel strongly enough about something that you wish to display it on your body, with the possibility that it will at some point be seen by somebody (so, like, not on your ass-crack or something), one would think you would feel strongly enough about it to not have to lie when people ask you what it is.
Have some self-respect. If you're proud enough to get a tattoo, and it means that much to you, why can't you tell people what it means?
I'm not going to need to lie about it, but come on people. Sometimes I'm going to want to say "oh middle eastern mystic symbol" instead of "a series of video games I really liked. They were really artistically crafted, had beautiful graphics and a poignant storyline."
I have always wanted a very small tattoo of Pi somewhere. I'm and engineering major, give me a break.
Alternatively, the symbol for power (like the one that is on the power button on your computer) would be pretty awesome. I would never get a big tattoo or one that is regularly visible.
A friend of mine knows a guy who got a Pacman tattoo of pacman and three ghosts going down his left forearm. He says that he wakes up every day, looks down at his arm and says "Fuck it wasn't a dream!".

An midgame tetris tattoo on the back would be awesome,
just 2-3 lines of blocks in place and a block coming down.
Christ that's tempting

So, in an odd way, we are in agreement.
Figured I'd post it since people were talking about Tetris tattoos and I thought that was pretty awesome

Easy to say it's some sort of angelic/middle eastern symbol.

Bullshit. Chicks dig Zelda.
